General / Off-Topic FDEV Year End Final Results posted (year ending May 31st 2017)

I am curious, Can you provide a source for your insider info please? :)

The new building has changed somewhat since last year

Devil is in the detail, the claim is that "Whilst the building may be brand new, it hasn't been paid for by FDev, they are simply the tenant through rental".

So I suppose the clarification would be do FDev own the bricks and mortar, or have they simply sat down with the real estate owners and agreed a lease based on the interior fit being to their specification?"

Either way, I expect tongue in cheek promo shots of a really cheap door with "Space" written on a sheet of lined A4 in flouro marker, next to a Klix machine! :p

The pedants are coming! The pedants are coming!

We are...

:D :p

EDIT: Still, it makes more financial sense to rent the space than say; blow $20k on a space door...

You think the difference between buying a £12m building and not is pedantry??

It makes more financial sense that anything when you can't afford to buy the building anyway.

I'd suggest perhaps backing up your statements with facts might be a good idea about now.

It's all very well making statements but I would like to see your proof on the figures and the comments you've made.

Also a breakdown on the pros/cons of renting vs. owning would be great.
Personally I cannot see what the issue is either way.

According to a friend's wife who knows someone who's brother is a cleaner at FD, the large new building is required to build anti-thargoid technology, and the directors who are selling shares are doing so because they are cashing out quickly and moving to Colonia this weekend (they don't think the anti-thargoid technlogy will be very effective).

:p

Disclaimer: The above is not actually true.

Frontier made 27 million after paying their dues to Valve for the use of the Steam sales platform.

I think they could afford to buy the building.

In any case, this thread has gone into ludicrous speed territory. It is absolutely clear that FDev are doing pretty well for themselves. Trying to say they're not because they've got new projects on the go and are buying/renting new premises is making you look kind of like you're just desperate to see them fail.

What did they do to you?

No issue, except the absurd claims hereabouts that this £12m new building has been bought by FD -- for cash.

There seems to be no limit to the fabrication some people will make in support of Frontier.

Fabrication.

They probably paid by cheque.

This isn't "support". People support FDev by buying their stuff. What people are doing here is pointing out a few facts.

If I tell you that elephants have 4 legs and a rather long nose, I'm not supporting elephants. I'm explaining elephants.

Fabrication.

Then what did they make? You seemed to accept that figure earlier in the thread when whining about them spending 20% of revenue on R&D.

Again, can you please back up your statements with some semblance of proof?

...

The only thing absurd here is your unexplained desire to knock everyone down for lacking evidence and yet fail to provide any yourself.

If only FDev received £17.7m in cash from a company like Tencent wanting to invest. That cash would be useful for being able to afford such a purchase. Pipedreams I say!

Of course, a long-term lease on the planned structure makes even more business sense. But as I am not an accountant, I don't advise listening to my rambling.

Clearly photoshopped.

You edited the dinosaurs out.
They are around the back. You clearly don't understand space-dinosaur-enclosure development.

Well GTuk, your rambling more closely matches the comments from my friend with years of experience so I will agree with you ;)

This topic keeps reminding me of the Simpsons.
