How do so many people not understand that the Federation is both fractious and highly corrupt?

There is nothing wrong with the concept or the execution, just the players too illiterate or obtuse to understand what's going on.
Go faster. It takes several seconds to complete a scan and they only have a range of 2-3km.
Line up well outside scan range, and go full speed until you are right before the entrance, and you will virtually never have anyone even try to scan you, and the few that do will lose line of sight before they can complete it.
