Horizons FED UP WITH NPC'S HAD ENOUGH FOR ONE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good post. I just wanted to add (because some people might not know this) is that when it comes to the engineer commodities never carry them around in your hold unless you very specifically are going to do something with them in the very near future. When you collect commodities from completing missions always ditch them right away unless you're going directly to an engineer to have a module upgraded.

In the case of Modular Terminals, the requirement for Marcos Quent, always drop them off in batches at his base, don't collect large quantities of them and carry them around with you unless you're supremely confident in your piloting skills:)

Off Topic ...
I've always got 20 or so of these in my hold... It's a pain because I can't switch to my Vulture... But saves time when I do want to go to an engineer for my larger ships. Will we be getting storage for this stuff in 2.2 or at least be able to drop them off at the engineers for use later?

I see your finally coping with the homicidal manics... Good for you!
Cheers! Only because of all the help people kindly gave me!!! But it's a good place to be!!!

Not in 2.2 but Sandro has indicated it's likely to happen (was in a beta Q&A vid) .. FD don't want general storage of commodities, in case of people trying to corner markets. Sandro therefore suggested storage at engineer's locations (only) and of engineer's commodities (only).

I charge one ton (gold) per week and per ton, to babysit engineering commodities. In case your cargo is destroyed for any reason while in my care, you'll be given in advance the equivalent tonnage of your engineering mats, in gold, as a security deposit .. This deposit, along with babysit charges, are returnable to me, in exchange of your engineering materials back to you.

Good morning everyone,
I'd like to show you the details of my ship, is there a way to export it to inara?
Or should I write everything by myself?

Thank you.

Wow cool!!!!

Thanx.

I should also mention that I did a "test" with my cobra MKIII and I had some mild interdictions
only.
I suppose the make of each ship (haul etc.) "invites" more npc's isnt't it?

Ok sorry for my ignorance!!!

I should mention that I have also some Farseer upgrades in FSD "increased FSD 1st upgrade" but there was no option in the site.
And of course I have the planetery landing suite.

It would help to know how much cash you have to spend, as I'm guessing that is why your build is currently well under funded...

If you must fly armed, and intend to fight, something like this build

Personally, I fly without any weapons on my own Asp build. It's got grade 5 modded FSD which gives me 42ly range. An Explorer build. If the A rated fuel scoop is way too expensive, get a cheaper one, B or C grade. I know you are going to wince at the loss of the two largest bays, but it's fast and does the job. The Asp has pretty lousy hull strength and without a decent shield it's cooked in no time. It's not a combat ship at all imho. No hanging around stars refuelling (a dangerous place to be). Runs cool as the power draw is low, can out run most attackers. Get the best Dirty Drives mod you can, it makes an enormous difference. Yes it pains to run from an Adder, but you'll live to see another day in this. If you can't afford it yet, work on thrusters and shields first. It's better to run than die.

This is a good rares runner. Although, I don't do that in this ship. I swop in a surface scanner and SRV and use it for exploration.

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO HERE??????

Usually people will tell you to accept the interdiction tether, zero throttle, submit to interdiction and (pips to ENG) boost away. Fairly effective but you can end up in mass lock and won't always escape.

I've been testing a less passive tactic, so far withh 100% success and minimal hassle, that is; When you're about to be interdicted, you get a message ("I have come a long way to find you. You have sooo much cargo etc."). Drop from Supercruise immediately.

Cool down and respool, re-engage to supercruise ideally before you see on radar, or more particularly receive a threat meesage, from the predator NPC. Having resumed course in SC, depending on timimg you MIGHT see another message from the same NPC. If so, conduct a second evasion drop and immediately re-engage after cool down. I believe it's highly unlikely you will see the NPC in supercruise again. (You might see him when you drop at the station. If so the stations are very heavily armed and you can use them for cover, or kill the attacker with security assistance though don't fire your weapons close to the station, or you will become a target. And toast.).

Interested to know if anyone else finds this as powerful a way to protect your cargo as I have.
Winterwalker out.

Yes I often use the drop from SC tactic, works a lot of the time!

Ok the thing is very simple.

I fly for 1 week now the asp explorer and take all kind of missions just to earn money
and obtain the upgrades I want, I suppose that you all understand... the usual drill.
Well today I've been shot down 7 times (That means roughly 7.500.000 cr)
5 from the same NPC!!!!!!!

What the !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me for being, I just want to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last 2 shot downs I was EMPTY!!!!!!

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO HERE??????

Screw the dynamic universe that is !!!!

I love the game and I don't intend on quitting but COME ONE MAN----

Give me a little slack here!!! What kind of pimping is that?????

At the bottom line I don't care about battles I just need credits to make my ship travel
far away.

Ok Frontier put a leash to your hounds because you make me real tired.
I have a life and job I can't stay online for ever!!!!!!!
I've paid for the game I want the joy I once had with it.

DO SOMETHING IT'S ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't care about battles don't get into them. Submit to the interdiction and immediately high wake (jump out to another system). If you were in a system you needed to be in, jump back. Pirate will be gone. If it's one of the mission spawned ones they do track you down again but I was kiting one of those all over the galaxy the other night in my T9 whilst taking no hits from him at all when he did manage to interdict me; after you jump out and lose him you usually get enough time to either dock or jump again before he reappears. It was a minor inconvenience to me completing the 10 or so missions I was running, not a game ender.

In short, fly smart.

I posted something similar to this although I didn't die, but yes, I agree that the interdictions and getting hunted down 8 out of 10 systems you travel to by equally ranked NPCs is a bit much to take every time you play. I have an Elite ranking, and literally I get interdicted and chased down 8 out of 10 systems that I jump to while playing and without missions or even cargo sometimes, as they seemingly think I have cargo when I have nothing many times.

I submit and jump back into SC and then get chased down a second time, so I again submit, and then once I jump out again into SC they are gone until I drop down into whatever instance in that system. Thus, I generally will drop down into a station so the police ships take down the NPC if I donit feel like dealing with each and every NPC on this 8 out of 10 systems.

It wouldn't hurt for Frontier to dull that down a bit, and I completely agree it can be frustrating. It is completely random by log in, but I am either hunted down by various NPC pirates 8 out of 10 systems on a log in, or very rarely by log in unless I am on mission.

I found, when I was getting interdicted several times per trip, that it was the commodity items customers were including as mission completion rewards taking up space in my cargo hold (I didn't even know they were there), reducing my cargo capacity and attracting NPC pirates like flies to poo-poo. If you are not grinding engineers, when you prepare to depart check the commodities market and sell off any commodity items found in your "cargo" column. This will free up valuable cargo space and drastically reduce NPC interdiction.

P.S.: If you're still getting blown up by NPCs, you might be doing something wrong. Do you have mine-layers fitted? If not, see posts on "using mines against NPC pirates". Killing NPCs for fun & profit . . . [arrrr]

DO SOMETHING IT'S ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All kinds of things are at play here.

Certain missions generate attackers.
If you take on multiple missions you might accumulate attackers.

This can become very annoying. For example the game does not recognize that it already has generated 4 attackers for you and will just generate 10 more if you have more missions. And that is not even counting the regular random pirate attacks and perhaps bounty hunters that might be generated for that beefy 2000 credit bounty on your head :).

Some mission related attackers will keep following you unless you kill them. I have been followed by an Elite FDL for at least 400 ly. and was attacked at least 20 times. I was in a trade fitted cutter at the time and had no chance destroying the FDL and the FDL had no chance catching me. It was fun the first 5 attacks, but It became quite annoying after that.

Engineer commodities attract pirates too. They are omniscient and know whether you have cargo or not.
Of course normal commodities attract pirates too, even if they are just human waste products or a few tonnes of fish. These pirates want that very badly and are prepared to kill for it.

But also some people don't know how to deal with attackers.
I never get destroyed, no matter how many enemies are after me.
You can always escape if you know how to handle these npc interdictions.
I recommend viewing some videos and reading some of the many threads with good advise.
I am not going to repeat it here.

Also your loadout is important if you want to increase your survival chances.

Something to ponder: if you dont have any clue as to what you are doing wrong, and claim to be a rookie at this game, you simply shouldn't be in an Asp Explorer. I'm sure people here will provide bandage-solutions (for example; "use mines"), and while they might work a little bit, what you really need to do is take a few step backs. Learn more about loadouts. Have escape plans become routine. Make sure what causes things to become more difficult, and how to minimise such dangers. Understand the relation between what you do, the missions you accept and the region you are in shape the challenge. Dont learn this in an AspE, learn this into a far cheaper ship. When something is puzzling, come to these boards and explain in detail what is happening, and if possible provide a vid. Make the most of the resources at hand. Finally, and most importantly: always assume responsibility for what happens to your ship. Blameshifting is understandable when frustrated, but it never works in solving actual issues that are within your control. Good luck!

You just want to play the game?
But thats what you are doing. its just not about winning all the time , you need to adapt and rise above the hostiles.

And anyway , just fight the guy the NPCs are impossible to die to if you fight back

Every aspect of the game is affected by NPC's and their actions, THAT IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE. This whole deal is just Darwin's Theory of Evolution, you adapt or you die. Want to avoid intedictions, don't take missions that state "hostile ships" may be sent against you. If you do want to to do them, prepare yourself and your ship, preferably at the same time. Mod your ship to be swift (dirty drives), better shields and some defensive weapons (mines, missiles), learn tactics, high wake escapes, submit before the interdictions (many are preceded by a message) the jump to another system. Beat feet to the spaceport and let security take care of the NPC.

Tired of running? Mod a ship for bounty hunting, weapons, shields, armor and power plant and distributor and go fight. Learn FA off/on, build up your credits and buy a Python, mod it, fully. Now you have a ship that can flee/fight/trade/mine/explore and by the time you get there you will have developed skills/tactics to hammer NPC's to spacedust. It doesn't mean you will be invulnerable but you will have a more than even chance to prevail.

The drawback? It will take you hours and hours of play time to get there, THERE IS NO EASY WAY TO DO IT.

I will tell you this, once you reach the higher game levels, everything becomes MUCH easier and you can then relax and enjoy whatever you want to do.
