TL;DR – I took a Federal Corvette to Beagle Point, Sagittarius A*, Colonia, and Hutton Orbital as a tribute to those still on patrol in their Federal Corvettes.

Ship Type: Core Dynamics Federal Corvette
ID: DSV-60
Name: Orion
Build: https://s.orbis.zone/norp

From 2023.12.30 to 2024.02.21 I took a Federal Corvette on a journey to some of the more famous remote parts of the galaxy. I dedicate this trip to those who are no longer with us, last seen in their Federal Corvettes.

I started this trip by picking up 1 ton of Lavian Brandy, 1 ton of Hutton Mugs, and set a course into the black. From the bubble I headed towards Colonia and stopped at Jaques Station. After a brief respite I worked my way to Beagle Point. At the edge of the galaxy, so far from home, I jettisoned my libation. To those we’ve lost, to those ships still on patrol in the void, Godspeed and enjoy a mug of brandy on me until you find your way back home. After taking a moment of silence I started my way back to the bubble by way of Sag A* with a stopover at Explorer’s Anchorage to stretch my legs. I finished up the trip by swinging by “The View” and docking back at Jameson Memorial.

Godspeed CMDRs, I’ll see you out in the black! o7

Have travelled to the saggitarius and colonia and back to bubble on my corvette too. cool to have all te required modules with you.
But why you need four AMFU's ?? is two not enough?

Since AFMUs are massless there isn't a range penalty. There is a power penalty but they can be turned on and off so that is minor. The big advantage to carrying more is twofold. The first is more ammo, so less materials would get used if rearms are needed. The second is heat damage is distributed across modules so having more modules gives you less individual module damage when taking heat damage. The second one is what I've heard at least but admittedly not tested.

In which situation (when exploring) do you get heat damage? Fuel scooping can easily be done without taking any damage.

(Well, I suppose SCO can easily cause heat damage, but that, too, can be used in moderation to avoid the ship overheating.)

Sure, but accidents happen. Sometimes I drop between two stars, sometimes I wonder a bit too close to an O-class, sometimes the phone rings and I slam headlong into the parent star.

Is it possible to avoid heat damage, absolutely, 100%. Have I experienced situations where I was panic popping a heat sink, absolutely.
