Federal Gunship as all hull tank - Worth it?

Thanks everyone for the replies! Some opinions lead me to a more general question, is the Federal Gunship best suitable for a hull tank approach with medium ships or is it better to consider doing this with one ship of the Alliance ship line, too? It almost certainly seemed that the Gunship is best for this role of a bulky hull tank when doing some research beforehand, but I'm not finally sure about that. Any other suggestions on that?
The gunship is good as a hull tank with a bi-weave shield. The alliance ships are more suited to hull but can still use biweaves very well, though the drives on the alliance ships are increbily vulnerable.

So by the Alliance ships being better suited for hull you mean without a (good) shield? And the Gunship being better as hull/shield tank hybride?

The only way of having useful missile build for PvP is to have 2-4 engineered torps and rest - Pack Hounds with increased capacity. What you do is launch Packs Hounds to hide Torps from PD, destroy shield gen and then finish off target by module sniping and possibly ramming, lol. This build is used for surprise attacks and pirating mostly, but fun meme build. Although any half decent PvPer in any medium ship will be able to avoid it and render you completely unable to fire and lock.

Seen some very good SR hulltank FGS shotgun builds. But the thing is, you have to be godlike with FA-off. Unless you are, piloting any FGS build in PVP will be doomed for quick and gruesome death.

The alliance ships generally have worse shields, but they should still have some shield on them

The chieftain/challengers make excellent hull tanks. I own all 3 but the FGS is the one I go back too. Not sure why really, I'm a fed so maybe that
