The hilarious thing will be that the permits will be available on Thursday for those who don't get into the top 75% and just get it at the megaship. If you win it via the CG you need to wait until Friday - salt will flow

i guess that the permits will still be available to everyone on Thursday even if you did hit the top 75%, so if anyone's that desperate they can still pick one up

I tried but my small combat ship, it's 200 strength shield and 2 burst cl 2 laser couldn't compete with only medium to large ship. (even their shields are hard to get down) (low intensity cz)
Let the story continue without me

Take your time and let your allies take the ship down then land some shots in at the end.
Sub system targeting is useful too.

To be sure upgrading/engineering your ship is probably the best option.
