First Successful SRV Fleet Carrier Landing (SRV planet to carrier how-to guide included!)

Unfortunately all we were able to go was to bounce the SRV off the deck like the uncontrollable ball it basically was. But I DO like your train of thought on getting the SRV into a hangar!

So, with timing, might it be possible to get a large ship (perhaps best) on a pad, and to descend just as the srv comes down gently and for the roof to close before it bounces back up?

Theoretically speaking of course.

Great stuff, talk about "blazing your own trail" gameplay.
Sounds like you guys had a blast doing it.

In 1700+ hours I didn't even go to Hutton's for my free Anaconda and you guys landed SRV on FC...
You're great.
I'm lazy.

Again,congrats🥳

Lol, you actually docked the thing? Congrats and well done!
I'm assuming that the ability to "request docking access" mentioned in the OP is something of an unintended (by Frontier) anomaly but that it wasn't actually possible to "board" the fleet carrier in any meaningful way. Indeed, someone here mentioned timing it so a landing platform was down as you arrived so the SRV could drift inside but to the best of my knowledge (I've tried at surface bases) there's an invisible barrier which prevents an SRV from actually getting inside the docking bay.

I guess we can count it as docked with the effort going into it. For what the game cannot handle we make up and do.

I think we need another post: First SRV to land on an asteroid... same team performed this stunt, which was actually more difficult than getting the SRV to a carrier...
