FIXED !! Can't reach Oculus Runtime Service bug !!

took longer than i expected but at least its done now.

wonder if we will get store credit as an appology?

I am guessing they will have a select title that they will offer for free for a day or two as an apology.

I hope it's Elite Dangerous so I can pick up a 2nd account, but more then likely it will be a low selling item of lesser value then ED.

Honestly, I'm not expecting much if anything. I think it would however, be a nice gesture on their part to at least try and offer some sort of olive branch.. they have quite a few upset customers today.

Me, I classify myself as 'slightly irritated.' I hope they offer something, but I won't be trying to burn the house down if they don't.

Up and running but the intro to ED is missing. Music is there but goes directly to hanger view:O
I think I shall go to the range today and when I came home just start from scratch....What a mess:x

Fine here launching direct from the ED Launcher, are you launching from Oculus?

Only odd thing I've noticed is that the Oculus background service takes much longer to stop now.

Rgr that. Launching from OCULUS. Will see about the ED launcher when I get back home today.
Happy thoughts.

So I reinstalled the OCULUS, Installed the patch and even accessed ED this morning. One question however,...Am I the only one who's OCULUS home page has gone back in time to the original BETA home before the fancy home pace and goodies?
Really don't care as long as I can access this game(only reason I purchased OCULUS). Just curious;)

Maybe it turned off the Rift Core 2.0 beta switch under Settings->Beta?

Just to say I also used this patch to fix a "Black Screen of Nothing" issue with my Rift.
I had previously used the patch to sort out the cert issue - and that worked fine.
Anyway, the rift was working last night, but this morning it wouldn't start up - rebooted, still wouldn't start up.
So downloaded the patch for the cert issue (again), repaired the Oculus installation and that fixed the problem. No idea why the Rift wouldn't start up - it just appeared dead...

<edit> Starting to wonder if the patch actually caused the "BSoN"...

Sounds more like the Nvidia driver bug that is known to cause a black screen in the rift.
And why oculus recommend the 388.59 driver.

It is only a few who experience this though and some say disabling "fast boot" in windows also sorts this issue.

Started the game up today after a few days of not playing and Oculus doesn't automatically start up. If I try to manually start Oculus I get the "Can't reach Oculus runtime service" message.

Have Oculus fixed the certificate yet?

Also, I can't find the HMD option from the launcher menu - where has that been moved to?

Edit:
A little Google-fu has found me the Oculus patch and it works again!
