Fixing the Type 7 Transporter

Had some ideas bouncing around in my head lately on how the Type 7 might be improved to make it a viable option for players to use for both trading and mining, because as it stands the Type 7 is rather useless for either. These are some of the most pressing issues plaguing the T7:

*It lacks a class 2 hardpoint, eliminating it from the list of potential deep core miners.
*Its cargo space is still rather sparse for a large vessel. It is nearly matched by the Python, which has the advantage of being a medium ship (allowing it to trade at outposts).
*It is also woefully undergunned, and appears to have an inactive class 1 harpoint slot on the underside.

So, how do we fix this? Here are some of my suggestions:

Upgrading the dorsal Hardpoint will give the T7 a little more defensive capability, but allow it to be outfitted for deep core mining, A job I believe the T7 could be well suited for.

#2 and #3:

Utilise the inactive class 1 Hardpoint, bringing the total hardpoint count to 1 class 2, 4 class 1.
Add capacity for a ship launched fighter bay to be installed, giving the player the flexibility to protect themselves no matter what they plan to do with their time in a Type 7.

Add a second (and possibly a 3rd) seat to the ample available space on the Type 7's bridge to allow the use of the previously mentioned additions.

These changes might require some reworking of the core internals, such as a larger distribution and/or power plant. It might also be worth considering changing one of the size 6 internals to a size 7 to give players an incentive to use it rather than opting for the Python instead.

I believe these changes could breathe some life into the Type 7, making it a ship worth buying. Hopefully Fdev will consider these changes or something similar, but I guess we'll see.
I welcome any feedback you might have.

Can I just say Thank You, for not suggesting the Type 7 be made to fit on a medium pad.

EDIT :-

I can't help but notice that the cost of the Type 7 is not a factor in your suggestion.

Considering that the Type 7 can haul nearly as much as a Python for roughly a third of the price, the Type 7 is very good value for credits. I've also read on the forums multiple times that the Type 7 is a fun and capable laser miner. And laser mining has similar earning rates to deep core mining.

I have mine fitted for mining. It's good for that purpose with that nice cockpit view. The improvements suggested in the OP sound great. 5 hardpoints, one of which is medium would make it a possible multi-miner, which is the kind I prefer. Even if I kept it in the planned role of tritium miner, having the medium sub-surface displacement missile that doesn't run out of ammo as quick as small would be nice. SLF hangar is in the "why not" category for me. Don't really miss it, but it would make a lot of sense to have that option. That tall, oversized cockpit should be able to fit an extra seat or two.

However, being able to fit on a medium pad would be better than all of these. It'd be a perfect ship to challenge Python's annoying outpost hauling dominance while the snake would still get to be better at everything else. However, it'd have the be either the improvements or the medium pad, not both. Well, maybe one could still fit a medium hardpoint there for that bubble cockpit mining goodness either way, but nothing else.
