Fleet Carrier capabilities in late 2020

Transfer: Land on carrier, look at ship inventory, left panel, there's a transfer button (transfer to/ from carrier).

Edit: Sometimes there's a glitch where it's greyed out, click on 'filters' should fix it.

Cheers!

Just initiated a jump, not entirely on purpose. I incorrectly assumed that I'd set a destination, then have to initiate the jump, like with a regular ship. Nope, jump initiates the moment I plot the route lol.

Technically the countdown to the jump initiates when you set the destination. You still have a certain amount of time to cancel the jump if you need to.

The jump process has started, can't transfer stuff just yet lol.

Also, isn't it impressive how the FC is always facing the right way for the next jump? I've love to see if manoeuvre beforehand...

...urgh. I was watching the external view thing and it booted me out of it so I'd not see the jump animation...poor show FDev, poor show!

Edit: WOW, how clunky can they make transferring stuff to the FC? Why not do it via the Commodities screen? The Transfer button did not show up initially for me in the ship Inventory panel, but did after I'd completed the jump - perhaps it gets locked down before I get thrown out of the external view? I'd have hoped to see the Commodities I'd transferred in the Commodity list, but just not for sale - greyed out perhaps - but nope. Need to familiarise myself with things more of course, but this is a very clunky UI implementation lol.

Quick query... I assume I cannot jump the FC while stuff is in transit to it? I transferred most of my ships and Modules from Jameson Memorial to my carrier. However, I had a bit of a UI glitch - it sorta froze for a few seconds and caught up - so my clicks got buffered, leading to me transferring a Module I did not want to be transferred, as it was stored in a far away system. My wait time was 6 minutes for all modules and ships, but is 26 for that one.

As an aside, will we EVER gain the ability to sort / filter our Stored Modules list? That's got to be one of the simplest things to program!

Interesting.
I think i might have done this already.

Your ships would return to the original port. At least that's how it worked in Beta.

So, here's the real question... If I park the FC in an Anarchy system, can I shoot all the ships around it with no consequences, and perhaps a little help from the FC's guns? :)

Manufactured Material harvesting made easy? Lol.

Also tried that in Beta, no issues destroying everything that moved. From memory npc's don't fight back, just attempt to highwake out.

Lol, really? So it's a thing? This amuses me! :)

I guess if they did fight back the FC would annihilate them, so I expect that's very deliberate behaviour for them to flee.

Edit: I must say, the 16 minute wait before the FC will jump is a pain. I could have initiated it while stuff (modules / ships) were still in transit to me and had plenty of time for them to arrive. However, I don't trust that the game wouldn't got "Oh, you're jumping in 16 minutes? Right, I CANCEL all items in transit, even though they're just 6 minutes away." Didn't really want to test that one myself.

Pardon me, one more question while I think about it...

If I'm selling say Limpets to myself for 100cr + 5%, does the FC get the entire 105cr or just the 5cr? I assume the latter as they're offered by a service. Things like Repairs for other Commanders though, I assume the FC would pocket the full amount?

I'm not really fussed about having the FC earn me money, certainly not at the moment, but I would like to understand it beforehand. I'd best get signed up to that Discord, eh?

Information about other FC's is available by clicking on them in the sysmap.
Won't tell you what they're trading but it tells you what services they have available.

As I've said elsewhere, it might be nice if we could create little "adverts" for our FC's, which could be accessed from every ship's right-HUD.
You'd click on "Galnet", then click on "Galnet Classified" and it'd display a grid of, say, up to 30 adverts per page.

In my experience, ships/modules just get delivered based on where you were when you initiated the transfer.
First thing I did when I bought my replacement FC was move the T9 I had on my first FC back from Colonia.
Jumping my FC around didn't have any impact on the T9's delivery.

I kind of wonder what'd happen if you were in, say, Colonia, transferred a ship from the bubble to your FC and then tried to do a speed-run to Beagle Point.
Be kind of funny if the ship showed up and you got a message saying you owed a heap of extra credits for the cost of the transfer!

Damn! Just went to make a sandwich for supper, come back and my FC is blazing away at something! Lots of laser fire!
