Fleet Carrier FAQ

Is there a way to completely BLOCK carriers from showing up at all? Seriously, I hate carriers, they completely MUDDY UP EVERYTHING. That's fine if everyone wants to buy the, see them and use them. But I don't want ANYTHING to do with them. I'd like to open up a map or pull up a list and NEVER SEE CARRIERS. I'm sick and tired of these complete wastes of electrons. PLEASE give us a way to completely hide them from every map or menu. All it would take is just adding a filter that we can select.

Yes. Filter them out in your Nav tab (left screen). They will, however, still show up on your system map.

This is better than a massive list of FCs you don't want to see when you jump into a system and is much easier navigable.

you don't need one, but are they useful?

out exploring in an anaconda 3,000 Ly from the bubble and feel like switching ships and going mining? no problem, if you have a carrier.

dinged the hull on a planet far from any station and want to repair? sure, got a carrier?

Hello everyone, I had one tiny question not directly linked to FCs but still. I was out in the black and stumbled across a FC where I could rest my bones, refill and repair. Don't want sound cheesy but I wanted to thank the commander that opened its services to other CMDRs like me (happened to find some other FCs without docking access). Is there a way to direct message a CMDR without having him/her as a friend ? Thanks all ! :)

you can usually find them on Inara or possibly on discord. Let me know the Carrier/CMDR name and i'll try and help.

People reading this thread might be interested in my decommissioning experiment, where I discovered that most of the Codex entry for decommissioning is wrong.

Want a full time job mining tritium to move said carrier around, sure get a carrier.
Want to play every hour of every day to maintain upkeep?, sure get a carrier.

It takes you that long to earn 30mCr? How long did it take you to save for the carrier itself? I can earn my upkeep in an hour. I can do it in just over an hour out in the black just scanning systems.
I can afford to buy and upkeep 2 carriers. i just see them as a compete and utter waste of time, as for making 30 mil, about 20 mins doing assassination missions and sitting in a CNB if you are asking.
