Fleet Carrier Purchase

I have sufficient funds to purchase an FC (I think) but cannot find an answer to the question: does the FC come with a full fuel tank?
Thanks

This question being important enough for you to ask makes me think you really don’t have enough credits.

Now if this was a ship enough credits would be more than three times the un discounted price and preferably five times it, modules and rebuys etc.

A carrier is a different matter but for my fairly minimal FC build I went for an extra two billion over the cost of the carrier and extras which allowed me to top up the tanks and buy some extra for future top ups as well as make upkeep a non issue for long enough for me to get used to the FC with no worries. I then went exploring and did some exobiology and should never have to consider upkeep again.

I think at 7.5billion is a good start, a fully kitted carrier is around just shy of 10billion, i think. 5billion is just gonna get you the FC, no juicy modules of your liking installed.

And a fairly quick payday is the CG. Buy, park next to a hotspot, mine and when you have a decent load, deliver to the CG (sign up first before delivering).
CG payout is about 400,000 per mined ton. Five billion is 12,500 tons. Another two billion for facilities, and cash. Another 5,000 tons.

The real answer is, obviously, that none of us can remember if it came with tritium or not.
No it definitely comes with less than a full tank of Tritium, enough for jumping around to start off.
But the advice is sound--don't pull the trigger until you have a comfortable amount extra.
Yes.
Upkeep is relentless. Tritium is the least of the worries.
Upkeep might be relentless but is also fairly trivial compared to most ways to earn credits with the assistance of an FC.
Tritium is generally much more of an issue because while it is not so regular a drain as upkeep it can be much more difficult to provide and you are unlikely to be able to stockpile years or decades worth of it on your carrier like you can with the credits for upkeep.

It all depends on how one plays the game. To me, it isn't much hassle to end each trade session by loading my trade vessel full of tritium and hauling it to my carrier, and the tritium doesn't get used up if I take a break from the game. 1.5 billion credits per year for carrier upkeep, however, is a big chunk of change, and I don't stockpile money; I spend it all on ships. If I take a break from gameplay, my reserves dry up fast.

Tritium was a big deal when I went to Colonia without enough for the return trip, though, not knowing that it couldn't be bought there at the time, and that tritium mining had been nerfed to the point of near uselessness. Now I know to stockpile enough to get back before I go anywhere. There's no need to stockpile more than what one needs for the immediate future, unless you want to take it around the galaxy, which stopped being practical long before I owned one (whenever tritium mining was nerfed).

I went to Colonia with my FC did a little exploration sampling loop while there and used the credits earned to pay for a Tritium buy order that was filled overnight which let me come back to the Bubble via SagA* where I bought Tritium again to fill the FC which took much longer than it had in Colonia.
All of that left me with over 15 years of funding in the FCs bank.

It's more practical to decommission your carrier if moving from Colonia back to the bubble (or vice versa). The problem is the tritium still in the gas tank... :(

I always have 4000 tons of fuel stored. Plus what's in the tank.
On my travels I grab tritium if l come across it as a backload.
But recently in 2 of my colonys I'm getting a discount so l top up locally hehe.
Services like UC, vista genomics, shipyard, RRR, secure warehouse, pioneer supplies, outfitting, etc cost alot to install and take up cargo space.
I have em all but as a group my carrier is seen as the goto for services. Other carriers in our group have next to no services thus allowing us to transport bulk. Very handy for colonisation.
