Fleet carrier upgrade and engineering for long range exploration.

A great fast way to get ranked up is in CZ’s . I initially tried fighting thargoid scouts; and while that works, its still slow while you have to look for em and the money stinks
Started doing CZ missions (expert and master only) in low intensity zones and boy I ranked up fast and was was compensated nicely for the effort. With combat bonds included, one can pull in around 18 million an hr. Theres always a conflict going in either Sothis Ceos or Robigo. I leave Robigo alone though, those are pointless.
Thanks for the tips. I had a reserve with CZ due to the fact that one need to chose a side and I was afraid that it might affect my relation with the diverse Allied states, but I have done some and my Corvette is well suited for this role. I'm gonna get it hereand try.

Same here, I agree that the platform could be made more appealing to Explorers (still, my crew and I are doing just that)
Engineering is a good idea, but as it has bad fame I am expecting huge resistance from the majority of the community.

As I mentioned, I try to use FC for exploration - what would actually help in my opinion is the Tritium drop rate improvement. As the price of this precious mineral stabilized and makes it way less lucrative than Painite or Platinum - nobody actually mines Tritium anymore... nobody, but those who attempt to explore in a group, using FC as a very good platform to have some fun "together"

P.S. I know it is an old topic, but as I just try to enjoy exploration moving forward causes scanning relatively fewer systems than in a single ship (of course). Not a big deal as I currently have plenty of credits, but in general: my crew and I traveled so far 130,151.83Ly... and I do not remember a single week that I was able to make more money than the weekly upkeep... Exploration should not be a type of activity to "hit the upkeep goal" and I do not want to make it its purpose... and if we want to stop and stare at some miserable life form, that should be the case. Constantly losing money while exploring using FC feels just bad.
Elite Dangerous has always encouraged us to "blaze your own trail" game style. Before I owned the carrier (few now on different accounts), that is how it felt... I could leave the game for months if I did not have a mood or chance to play. Not only I should not do it right now, but it kinda makes me feel: "All trails are equal, but some are more equal than the other ones"

The "resistance" are players who wants everything for nothing, first they can accept to pay 208,969,450 Cr for a stock Cutter but find the cost of a carrier too high, then can't bother going through what is probably the most entertaining challenge in this game, farming materials for engineering, what else do they want?

There are ways to make material farming easier and faster but if it wasn't a chalenge then I'd be playing another game, in some other games they'd had to pay real money for what they got, so they take the habit of having something for free and ask for more. At some point little birdies have to leave the nest and learn to feed themselves...

I like exploration, the furthest I've been was in an Anaconda but boredoom and breaks made sure it took me two weeks to get there and back vwith a damaged ship and "never again" in mind, in a Carrier you just park it there and that's it, if you find a suitable spot to mine you just do it, if you want to explore around your carrier you can and you also can repair.

My Weekly upkeep is 11,350,000 Cr righgt now, it's nothing to make in any good system with the proper ships, to me it's a bit more than one hour doing tourist rotations in CEOS, miner, trader or bounty hunter, I have all of those in my FC plus my Krait Phantom with a jump range of between 56 to 60+ Ly for exploration and material farming if I need it.

So there are solutions to make the actual Fleet Carrier manageable, even if for some it is an expensive solution, then a Cutter is also expensive...

Apparently they want the convenience of a game without the reality of life in 3308. You want something, you better work for it.
Sometimes you can really tell which players live in the convenience of a city where everything is handed to em on a stick.
We’re tired of walking, give us taxis!
Darn traffic jams, we want subways!
The subways are too crowded we want…
The convenience of avarice never ends.
