ANNOUNCEMENT Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 3

Well thats it. Mined to get a FC. no point in mining now. Selling the FC. Oh and now they say VR not going to be supported for odyssey. Will not be playing for some time now. bye all o7

I'm kinda in the same boat, but I didnt mine - I used the hauling tritium gravy train to earn slower but still decent credits. Problem is I earned just barely enough to buy FC, some optional services, and not much left over for peace of mind to ensure maintenance effectively for long enough to consider 'end of game'.

Either I need to figure out way to keep earning or just sell FC to prevent the ongoing cash drain.

I think time to swap to rocky rings, like serendepide etc. They don't have tritium = yellows means something usable there.
Yeah I think that's gotta be the new thing. Either that, or literally just doing missions, since they have better pay/hr right now

I suppose because they need to be active all the time like normal reinforcements.

EDIT: Without power, they are not reinforcing your ship, which would make them useless.
  1. "protection modules" consume energy
  2. if the "protection modules" do not fulfill their role (protection), energy consumption continues.

What I need?
I need the opportunity to prioritize the “protection modules”, which in case of damage and damage to the “power plant” (read: power reduction) will be disabled.
I hope you understand what I'm talking about, and also use more than 2 points in the allocation of priorities.

So we're still only allowed to make money through mining? F*cking marvelous!

I was actually enjoying myself with some Tritium Trading... if only to have something else to do then stare at a rock while lasering it. Thanks FDEV.

here's what i just don't understand
Carriers need money and fuel
plenty of people went out and got one, paid ARX to make it look nice
and the galaxy started opening up for players to explore and have fun
ok so LTD's might have been too much, but it gave players a chance to get the new stuff and expand the game
removal of money and fuel means carriers will just die out
people will sell them back and never bother again

it makes we wonder what the hell Fdev are thinking ?

if they read this its simple
leave it the way it was and let us enjoy playing the game by expanding the galaxy that after all is there for that very reason

i'm on my way back from Sag A i was hoping to get a carrier when i got home
that's not going to happen now
and that only means that i'm not spending money in the game anymore

we should just sell all the carriers back i mean what's the point of them now ?

I'm parked up by a planet with a crapload of hotspots and no doubles or triples. And a couple of overlapping ones. So to test this attempted balancing, I've just hit a single LTD hotspot (marked on the attached pic) with 60 limpets, all from 850km-1000km from the centre and all within the yellow area. And I targeted only the shiny rocks, not the ones with a central glow. Just for comparison to the other results.

Number of rocks with:LTDTritiumVoid OpalsOther
Core deposits202 2
SSD0200
Surface deposits5500

So LTD are still present but vastly reduced.

Where I was :)

If you can't make twenty or thirty mill a week without the billion dollar mining opportunities you need to turn in your pilots license.

The way mining was, and likely will be again, FDev may as well just put a button on the station screen to just give 100 million per push, with no limits as to how often it could be pushed. Mining turned a money printing machine that never should have been that way in the first place.

erm i can mate ???
the point i was making (which you clearly missed) was that the boom made people play and enjoy the game more and expand players into places in the galaxy they didnt usually go to
i'm not boo hooing the loss
i'm asking why such a strong swing away from a balance
