Edit: Can't test the SLF eggsploit as I don't have one with me, but I just tried the flying away trick and coming back and while the SSDs still show on the surface, they are no longer replenished - so seems like all is well on that front.

So if the Egg is now gone, does that mean hotspots have been reset or the generation mechanism changed, or did they just change one Egg?

Guess they can change positions of rocks inside existing spot. So they just shuffled rocks.

Why is the ps4 so freakin slow to copy updates... Downloading done in seconds, but to actually get it installed?! About an hour...

Yeah, it’s a damn pain.... SONY changed to that version of patch installation a few years ago.

Only a handful of games/apps are unaffected.

It’s why, if you have Say 100gb HD space free, but the game is 112gb it won’t download the update. You’d need to free up at least another 12gb for it to work.

Yes the hotspots seem the same as before, just what is in them has been re-rolled it would appear. Can't say for certain though - would need one of those hardcore miners who map their mining routes out to confirm.

Doubt they will leave, it's still a triple.
Unless Fdev royally screwed the pooch with the overlaps, which some have been reporting.

Dear Stephen! Can you take this issue https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/14359 to WHOEVER is patching this game? Since the intruction of fleetcarrier megaship looting is broken, cargo won't eject and megaship scenarios (attack,defend) won't start. Simply said - a good chunk of ED playstyle is DISABLED due to aforementioned issues. Please do something about it.

Is megaship looting broken?

It broke a lot of content. You can not complete the raiding missions anymore either. It should be fixed in a patch related to FCs .As the introdution of FCs also broke it!

Obviously what contents particular asteroids have was going to change as the mechanics of hotspot buffs changed. It is right there in the patch notes.

Figured a re-seed was coming. If they're increasing the effects hotspots have in the belt, that would go hand in hand with making that happen. More curious about this entry and how it's going to play out.

Been in 2 of the LTD 3 hotspots now (Col Sector and HIP 4351) - and have expelled nearly 100 limpets. Not found a single rock with any diamonds in that can be laser mined. Only 1 rock found with a diamond SSD on. Also tried going directly into the diamond hotspot itself. Just the same. So far it seems as if this is the mother of all nerfs for diamond mining...

Good luck. Metzili System stopped selling 4k Tritium at its' 3 large pad refinery systems 3 days ago. Had a quick visit, there are still about 40 FC hanging about their, so they must be buying Tritium at 40k T !!

There's still Massacre Missions, y'know. Combine that with the individual bounties and a Haz-Res, 500m doing that for an hour or two ain't that far off.
Fairly easy, especially with an engineered ship and wing mates. Certainly pays more than Thargoid Hunting.

My finding in the triple hot spot overlap in HIP 4351, 25 limpits fired, 6 hot rocks amongst them. Results are:
LTD cores = zero
LTD SSD = Zero
LTD surface = Zero
roids with LTDs = 2

And for those 2 yields of 4.65% and 10.24%

Obviously FDev have been watching too much Michael Barrymore.

I did find plenty of Tritium though, think I might go and look at the Tritium hotspot and see if worse

same 25 in non hotspot

LTD Cores = zero
LTD SSD = 1 (13 LTDs farmed)
LTD Surface = None
roids with LTDs = 1

Yeild for that 1 11.68

So from this quick test non hotspot produced slightly better return than hotspot

Well, it's certainly an interesting way of resolving the problem. If your bank is constantly being hit by robbers, instead of increasing the banks security so all customers can enjoy the bank, just remove the money from inside.

And for those of us who are terrible at combat ? Mining was the only viable option to earn credits (unless we go the <cough,cough> passenger liner route) and while I haven't tried any hotspots yet, initial comments here aren't promising.

That's moreso on Steam than it is Frontier, though; Steam's the one handing it all out.
If it matters, mine's going right now, ~161MB

My Steam account had the patch planned for download at 2pm today. I've just set it to install as soon as I saw it. Should be good when I'm ready to get into the game.

Random 1st visited ring, ship: MK-2, all mining tools (2 lasers) and 5 collectors. 150t cargo.

Tritium single spot, using laser/ssd, targeting yellows:
15 mins = 40t and 30% hopper of tritium.
35 limpets used total.

LTD single spot:

10 minutes same ship run, used 21 limpet. Targeting yellows only
Got 10 of that 21 had SSD tritium or abrasive. Some were tripple ssd.
Got 1 rock of grand_something to explode.

Last one rock had 1 abrasive trit and 10% deposit of LTD for laser, that was 1st I saw LTD.

total mine: 0 of everything.

....so, I think i'm done with this xUSSR car simulator. Gona remove all modules and park in bubble just to be paid storage while I'm traveling Voids.

Btw how can I refund ARX for carrier outfit? Because I will not be able to use it for long it seems ...so why to pay. That was trick & some sort of cheat from your side. Nice looking toy which cannot be used for long trips.

Based on the above it seems they've made mining tedious again. I really don't mind a nerf in prices but the endless searching for rocks with more than a few % of LTD is so frustrating.
