Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 4 Patch Notes

But if players just jump like their ship would do INSIDE human bubbles, i agree with you.
Exactly my point, good to see someone gets that. My stats show I've made 21 carrier jumps for 6397 LY (not all were a full jump of close to 500LY -- some were shorter for various reasons), and I'm on my way farther out at the moment, but the big diff it seems is that I'm not racing, using my carrier as if it was a ship. I don't run out of gas, and it's easy to replace the jumps' fuel cost with short mining excursions that incidentally also make me cred from money minerals. Win-win-win.

You have typo error there, should be "for a current implementation of a carrier", add NPC miners + remote cargo->tank fuel - problem solved.

The point is,
FD gave us a slow, robust city bus,
and some commanders are outraged,
because it's not optimized for round-the-world trip.

I see it more as a problem with attitude,
not with the bus itself.

EDIT: it does not prevent me from using it for out-of-city trips.
I just know it's limits and don't try to break speed records on the way ;)

...or it is a museum. I want to collect samples around galaxy. That will take hundreds of tonns. Why I can't ? In current state I will be mining next 5-6 months full time job to do that, instead looking for samples. Besides I know like 10-15 places where to get :) Had been 1st visitor there.

I don't rely on pie-in-the-sky, wishful thinking, or other forms of self-serving attempted voodoo, I deal with what is and it works just fine.

You can do ANYTHING you want with this... whatever you name it.
Just not HOW you want to :)

Yeh ...that what i say, 5 months of full time mining job equals to me "i will not do that even if I want".
Cmndr, if you are having to do mining full time for 5 months to keep your carrier fueled, you are either 1) doing mining really, really wrong, or 2) using your carrier really, really wrong (i.e., not taking its limitations into account). Can't wish away what is. Can't gripe it away, either.

Sweet.
Who do you think was writing this "how-to" mine Tritium currently so many times that he does not feel like making it again,
only because someone is too lazy to make a quick read of a thread he is adding his already asked zillion times question?

I get part about not wanting to repeat yourself ad nauseam, or even wanting to help if that's not your thing.

But since you already went to the effort of writing an explanation / guide at least once, and from sound of it many times - why no just link to it? And if a link each time is too much effort, just put it in your signature and done.

You're spending more effort disparaging people for not knowing something you admit had to write explanation for many times (hence the clue many ppl don't know) than just putting a link or sig.

If Tritium was 400cr/T and fell from every block of ice you scan...

You still need to fill the Cutter or T-9 to fill the FC which takes quite a bit of time to load 10k tons so you could actually go somewhere.

What can FD be thinking by making it more grindy than that so the 1 - 4 stations that sell @ 4k/T fill up with max # allowed almost instantly?

If there's some point to this other than to discourage players from actually using a FC - I'm missing it entirely...

That is calculations for 150t/hour mining. In 100-120hrs of not interrupted mining (which is 3 weeks of 8 hrs/day mining) you will have full carrier, i.e. 65000ly
Round galaxy trip is 350k+ ly.

Relax everybody.
Hopefully the tritium problem will disappear with patch 4.
That will be not enough. They can boost x3 mining at most, because more will be out of cargo for miner ship. I.e. SC back to FC each 20 mins = time waste = slow down.
Even x3 mining still slow. That is full working week for 65000ly.
I'm not saying playing week, that is real 8 hrs/day mining you will need.

Even if every rock is loaded with 30% Tritium and you keep laser mining fast enough to feed a 500T mining ship loaded with collector limpets, it would still take quite a while to collect 10 k tons.

Nowhere else is re-fueling a vocation...

But you do not need a carrier full to the gills with tritium to make such a trip, nor do you need to make the trip with multiple consecutive jumps that deplete your fuel unacceptably fast. Like I said, you're not taking the limitations of carriers into account, trying instead to treat them like superjumpthefarthestinjustminutesanacondas.

Maybe your best bet would be to decomm your carrier and finance an expedition to find Raxxla... I hear they have winged unicorns on sale there that can whisk you across the galaxy in an eye blink -- and only 2.5 billion cred!

I understand your frustration.
I also hope that the tritium debacle will be sorted out as soon as possible.
My point is that, until monday, we can only speculate what the actual results will be.

You don't need carrier either. Just put a mark on map and keep mapping all around using keelback. I saw video where guy on keelback was on Beagle.

I feel like they just ignore all requests, they have plan which assumes us to mine a lot to keep online. They don't care real use. However they want to sell FC to each person, because it is extra ARX for customization. That's why it is personal now.

I am really no fan of mining, so I agree with you.
But you don't have to fill your carriers in one shot, one hour of mining every 2-3Kly is not that bad when you can do that with laser mining.
Or you can fill your carrier from a station do relaxed mining from time to time to keep your carrier tank high...
