News Focused Feedback Forum Content Schedule

Only 6 months? Doesn't sound like enough time D:

They are not starting from scratch when the focused feedback start so yes 6 months to adjust some details from players feedbacks looks like enough to me. Core mechanics / gameplay is already decided by FD...they announced it in 2017...

Just asked Will on the Livestream :)

He said: "we're working on it! The forum thread says 'from the 18th' so expect it this week (or next!)"
Cop out!

Just chill everyone.

We all think that Q1 is jan-mar, Q2 is apr-jun, Q3 is jul-sep & Q4 oct-dec.

It isn't necessarily how FD think....their Q could be based on 4 months, 6 months.

I'm parked up now, waiting for Q4 to finally be released, btw Im not expecting that to be until at LEAST end of Mar 19. Not expecting to be playing for more than a few hours 'til then, I can't see anything in Q2 or Q3 to get me playing again.

In the meantime it's JWE & Subnautica for me.

They did try to put it in "Chapter" format. FD Shouldn't have mentioned quarters at all.

Enjoy Subnautica Doc. I have over 100 hours in it and I still play it.

For me, I've also hung up my Elite wings until Q4 and i'm playing other games, but mostly flight simulator like usual. If there is a beta for any of the Q4 stuff then I'll gladly help test stuff too.

No they aren't. Whenever the post goes up, there's no way that they will have spent more than an hour writing it and there's no way they will even have started writing it before the day of the post.

The reason they haven't done it is because they don't care to, not because it's such an excruciating meticulous job that they want to get *juuust* right, or because they're afraid of some kind of forum meltdown.

Forum anger is almost exclusively the result of lack of communication, refusal to clarify, and/or outright lying. If they were seriously worried about that (which they're not - and they shouldn't be), then they'd do things like follow up on questions people ask, give a heads-up when something's going to be late, and clarify when there is confusion or ambiguity in their initial communications.

Instead, thy do things like say "such and such will happen from such and such date", and then the date comes and they don't show up or do anything or say anything at all until someone is able to confront them directly about it, at which point they play semantic word games as if to imply that they've never made a definitive statement about anything.

And that's just it: they never HAVE made a definitive statement about anything ever. Nothing they say means anything really because when you get down to it they don't think it's really important. And they're probably right.

Brah, winky face means I'm not serious. You flew too close to the sun.

Well, I'm talking about Q4 exploration already, have been for some time. It's all I talk about really.

The Mrs and dog are very confused.

Changes sound great!

It sounds like the Analysis Mode / MRA Scanner is something like the Wave Scanner in the SRV, but on the HUD. I hope so, I like the idea of a scanner that gives you approximate feedback so you need some skill to find the target, rather than just popping up a HUD marker and flying towards it.

It remains to be seen how easy/hard it is though. I'd love to see some kind of fire scanner -> observe feedback -> alter params and re-fire scanner loop. So initially you fire the pulse, and you see (say) dots of a certain colour on the HUD meaning a deep core deposit. So you fly close to where you saw those dots, switch to "deep core" mode" and re-fire the scanner which will give you a much more accurate scan.

E.g.
'general mode' - long range, finds all deposits but highlights them vaguely
'surface mode' - short range, finds nearby surface deposits and highlights them more cleanly
'sub-surface mode' - short range, finds nearby sub-surface deposits and highlights them more cleanly
'deep core mode' - short range, finds nearby deep-core deposits and highlights them more cleanly
