Forest Animal, petting Zoo and more

Hi community!

I was thinking it would be nice to include some forest animal like foxes, racoons, squirrels, etc. Squirrels and birds might be able to live together in something that I imagine as a big "open-air" exhibition concept. Would be nice to create a forest-feeling for the guests walking along a path and seeing foxes, deers and more on either side of them (maybe leading up to a wolf habitat!).

Also, I think a petting zoo with ponys and goats might attract more families with children. (Please no pony riding or at least a toggle to disable). In this open area/habitat I would suggest that there is a keeper and a security guard assigned at all times to make sure the animals are "protected". Maybe it's possible to combine this experience with a shop to buy food for the animals.

Let me know what you guys think!

I like both ideas in concept. I don't think we need a petting zoo DLC in a hurry (it certainly shouldn't be a priority for Frontier) but I wouldn't be opposed to it being added eventually. Not sure what your objection to pony-rides is. The zoo I work at does donkey rides for kids without any drama.

The forest idea is nice. Again, fairly simplistic in terms of actual content, but it makes me think of the Planet Earth (BBC) episode about gardens, where David Attenborough shows off foxes, badgers, hedgehogs, and so on.

Oh I agree, there's no rush. I was simply putting out ideas that i haven't seen in the forum yet.
That's great if that's the case!! Unfortunately, I have seen examples where ponys were held in a small round pen and could only walk in that one direction, attached to a thing like a merry-go-round. I know the developers put great importance into educating the players/customers aswell and for me, personal view, I would like to see that such activities are carried out in an appropriate way.
Makes me really happy to read that you had a good experience though!

Yes exactly, that's what I was aiming at with the forest idea :)

Well I don’t mean to start any rumors but on steam db their is a unknown app in the dlc section if indeed it’s still there. This was brought up on Twitter and YouTube. Take it with a grain of salt on if it means anything or not. But if the dlc pattern is correct we should have another in March or April so we’ll see.

It seems unnecessary to post that in this specific thread, as the odds of the unconfirmed DLC having anything to do with petting zoos or garden wildlife is extremely slim.

I posted elsewhere to suggest that the next DLC might not have animals in it at all. We just don't know. There are a lot of potential gameplay features that could wind up costing the same as an animal DLC, after all. I honestly think the next DLC will be "animals in high demand", though.
