Found a way for auto-tunneling paths

I actually planned to tweak my graphic settings of the game, but found an option for activating auto-tunneling for paths.
It's still a bit buggy, but usable.

I didn't find any topics about this, so I will share it here.

1. Save game & close the game (otherwise file will be overwritten)
2. Open the file
Code:
C:\Users\[COLOR="#FFD700"][YourUsername][/COLOR]\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster\Config\Game.xml
3. Search for the entry
Code:
[COLOR="#FFD700"]<PathTunneling>false</PathTunneling>[/COLOR]
4. Change it to
Code:
[COLOR="#FFD700"]<PathTunneling>true</PathTunneling>[/COLOR]
5. Restart the game

I played around with it. Sometimes it creates some weird artifacts, but works.[big grin]

Nice find! No doubt this will be 'fixed' soon so we aren't able to do it any more.

I think we can correct that into :

Soon they will polish the feature and release it so we don't NEED to do this anymore [tongue]

Anyway nice find!

Think we can assume this is coming eventually then.

Had a play with it although a bit annoying as you can't turn it off in game.

Suspect it will be 'patched' tomorrow.

Yes, it's not just a bug that has appeared in the config file. It is clearly a feature in development. [yesnod]

Yeah, but now that someone has informed them that we can activate it now, they will quickly release a patch so we won't be able to play with it any more, until they 'release' the feature.

Yeah, I was hopping this feature was coming up. Just surprised it wasn't official in the Alpha2 release.

Ah nice, was hoping this would be in the game. Now I don't have to remove all my mountains just so I can put a path through the area that I had forgotten to do initially. Hopefully it isn't patched out as it is optional only if you want to dig through the config file. Those that do want to use it are most likely well aware it isn't a completed feature yet as well so I hope it won't cause any dramas as far as using it before officially being released.

Nice find and fun to play with. I've found, however, that when this is active, it becomes almost impossible to connect paths and queues to ride entrances and exits. I'm sure this is one reason they feel it's not ready to allow in game yet.

Yes! I recognized that too while playing yesterday.

Maybe somebody finds a way in the .txt to rotate every scenery object in the game like walls and roofs instead of only some and I can finally update.

Nope, it's not a configurable option.

It will be written into the game itself. You'd have to decompile the game, modify the methods that control advanced rotation and then recompile it. Which would be virtually impossible as Frontier will have done everything possible to protect their IP by obfuscating their source code.

Yes, maybe it's best left alone until the people who know what theyre doing get it working properly. Another option is to use the terrain tools to dig a hole, then lay the path, then cover over with the terrain tools again. More hassle but it works and wont break anything else.

So, you who have locked up this feature and tried it out. What do you think about it? Are there the same issue being able to se what you build just as it is when digging trough with the coaster tool or does this work better? [happy]

How do you change the language?

Wie hast du die Sprache geändert? ;)

I expect by editing %localappdata%\Frontier Developments\Frontier Launchpad\Products\Planet Coaster\Config\Pirate Translation.xml, moving it and launching the game with launch arguments.

The instructions are provided in the file:
To use the translation file:
Copy the translation file to "%localappdata%\Frontier Developments\Planet Coaster\Translations"
From the LaunchPad,
Select 'Planet Coaster',
Select 'Settings',
Select 'Set Launch Args',
Type the command "-translation PirateTranslation.xml" into the box that appears,
click Save,
then Launch the game!
