Franchise Community Challenge Discussion

Better not mention my low number by comparison:

To be honest I haven't focused as much on the actual challenge that I first thought I would because it seems to run smoothly anyway. I don't really "need" the rewards, so my focus is generally helping to complete the challenge and trying to get animals out on the market at decent prices (the elephants I've put for sale so far disappear within 2 minutes or so). If things seem to slow down later and there's risk we won't finish I'll put my focus back on truly breeding some elephants but for now I'm happy to just play around in my zoos as normal instead. ;)

Whereas, I need the challenge to hold my interest :p

I like having a goal to work towards, and on top of that set my own targets for the week, depending on the time I have available 🎯
(Generally, playing Franchise mode just for the challenges, and otherwise would prefer to revisit the career mode)

I'm kinda like Jamie in timing regards. I like the rewards as they sit in a separate storage that I dip into when I need an animal but none on the market or the zoo in question hasn't got the funds to acquire them. I try for the podiums before slowing down and then picking up again if it looks like we might not complete it a few days before the end of the challenge. 55% with over 4 days to go looks good, but, it all depends on whether those 55% are the same elephants we need to get the next 45% in the next 4 days. Will those elephants come through for us over the next few days to complete the challenge.

At 55% we are at around the 5000 mark give or take. We know Moorwiesen did 200 of those, so the remaining numbers point to 100s or even 1000s of people taking part each with their own baby counts. It might seem to slow down as we all wait for our elephants to get back to their breeding periods and then another influx of numbers. And, then there are the people that are working on their zoos now and will have their first set of babies soon, hopefully filling that dip in the numbers while the rest of us wait rofl.

I took some time out yesterday to do some zoo renaming for the other challenge zoos I made but named differently and saw my old Zoo from way back when that I have been slowly bringing animals from as I needed them, but I noticed it has a lot of money, so, perhaps, it can be used as the purchase point for my zoos, until it's animals and money runs out and I can close the zoo. And rethinking my zoo creation system.

I have my Alphabet Zoos which are all in Europe Temperate Zones. These are my go to zoos if I need animals for a challenge.
My World Zoos which are zoos based on the real world in the wild distribution of animals with the entrances seemingly linking to their real world equivalent connection points. With each zoo roughly in the location where the brunt of the animals are and the zoo itself designed to reflect the areas the animals can be found in. These are my, I would like to create a wildlife sanctuary rather than a zoo places.
I still have some of my Zoolympics Zoos but depending on their funding needs I may slowly remove them, barring the latest one I still want to work on as I really love that one.
And then there are the Challenge zoos. I call them Sanctuaries as they are usually targetted at something specific. These zoos I started recently to put in easy mode, to aid in completing the challenge with as little stress for the animals and staff ( and myself ) as possible. I usually use hard mode on my other zoos which help me iron out wrinkles in my processes.

And the recent thought of creating more compact research zoos, allowing more species but smaller broods in smaller habitats and perhaps in continent based zoos, in some cases biome/continent zoos for areas like cough Africa where there are far too many animals to fit into one zoo without issues rofl.

PC doing well with 73%. Possibly mainly from Moorwiesen rofl.
Console only at 7% which is worrying but hopefully it's because the key players there haven't started breeding yet. Fingers Crossed.

I'm still sitting at 5 babies at the moment, but that's mainly due to the African Elephants in their between babies waiting game. Theoretically I could get another 5 or even more if they all drop silver or more babies in time. The Asian ones are new ones so settling in, so hopefully they will start dropping babies soon. But did get 2 Asian babies yesterday but not good enough for the challenge.

Wonder is PC and Console had the same targets?
And if so, maybe they shouldn't?

Seems like we're constantly getting challenges on the PC that are either completed quickly, or are impossible to complete
Neither are as fun as they should be; one is no challenge and one is no hope; much prefer the ones where it's doubtful either way going into the weekend

I had a friend who steered a canal barge like this - crashing into one bank; wildly swinging the tiller the other way and then crashing into the next bank, again and again
They chose not to drive again all week, as they never got the hang of a small appropriate correction :p

Yeah, I suspect they may have the same counts. But then again some challenges are completed almost as quickly on console. So, it might be that the time frame to collect animals is just considerably shorter for console so, some people may not feel confident of doing the challenges, so yes, they should take that into account and adjust the numbers appropriately.

As to the PC. I think we've only had bad challenges when the number reporting wasn't working, or animals we were expecting didn't work. Both have been fixed in some form or another which could explain why the last few have been relatively easier to complete compared to before.

So Good job PC players! We've been done for a little while now so no stress there.
Console seem to be struggling this week though. I still wish we were all playing on the same servers instead of split (more help during challenges and more animals in the market from more players would have been really great), but I'm cheering you guys on at least!

Oh, tigertimb, you know I was talking about how I lost alot of my research when I restarted / semi restarted a few years back. Maybe I was misremembering it or it's a combination of many things.
I just wiped out all but 4 zoos and only retained babies and pregnant females of the ones in storage.
But, when I went into one of the zoos I kept. Research is still showing as intact.
The only thing I can think of that would have caused me to have to research again, is if I removed ALL zoos when I did that restart many years ago.
Good to know if that was the case. But confounding if it wasn't. Maybe it was a glitch that was later fixed.
So, for now .. the only zoos I have is the Elephant Sanctuary for the current challenge, Cat Sanctuary for the last challenge, Australian Research and my Zoolympics Humans and Nature zoo I wanted to continue.
