Frontier why is the motherlode now and egg cup full?

Fwiw, 300m for a full python was insane. About half seems reasonable to me. Nothing should be more than double as profitable as anything else in the game, right? I think they could have swung the nerf bat more precisely, but it is what it is. Something had to be done.

Why are asteroids now only giving us half the amount of materials, mining was great but you taketh away?

Because the abrasion blaster was bugged. The more blasters hit a deposit (simultaneously) the more chunks we would receive. Was never meant to be that way, only one chunk per deposit.

Lets be honest though, 20 million per motherlode down to 10 million isn't really an issue. Just make sure you get the blast yield correct every time.

but a motherlode should be a motherlode, feels like a handful of beans again. 700k selling price on par with LTD would have been a nicer fix if indeed one was needed, but meh, using the chunks as the nerf just killed target mining anything other than opals.

Just to be clear, rather than address the actual bug with the blaster they’ve reduced the overall yield as an indirect fix? Please tell me they're better than that. [haha]

They fixed the blaster AND reduced the initial motherlode by about 40%

From what i gathered from other places (haven't tested myself yet), the fix was exactly that: one surface deposit, one chunk of material, no matter how many abrasion blasters you use. If that was done, it doesn't affect me at all. My mining Cobra MK IV always only carried one abrasion blaster. Anything else felt like cheating to me right from the start and even more so, when FD confirmed that multiple fragments were a bug.

Edit: This one came in while i wrote my reply. Seems like i need to gather more info. :)

Oh. Hmm. That's inconvenient. I have to find some time to do more mining, but right away -40% seems a bit over the top.

Oh, I see. That's not so bad then. :) Still, I struggle understand why they can't get these things right from the outset - they've been working on the mining update for a long time, and it just antagonises players.

how did you manage that ???

if you tell me how to get small seismic charges i will share this little nugget of info;

that aside consider the Orca... a wonderful mining boat.

Probably to stop or slow down 1/2 bill for 90t lunacy eh?

Yes, I just misunderstood what 777Driver was saying – I thought that lowering the yield was the fix for the time being. :) I agree that it needed to be sorted.

how do you know that? oh yes, indeed, that's what they said they did. together with the 100+ dev meme.

yeah, well, i don't trust frontier communications when they obviously contradict evidence. the beta was the usual hype show of untested and barely finished code, and release was scheduled regardless of the crapton of bugs surfaced in two weeks of chaotic and unprofessional testing by the playerbase. so my current estimates say q4 was in preparation 1 year ago, shelved and then rushed out in aprox 2 months. that would perfectly explain what we have without implying that all 100+ professionals in the same company are complete and utter incompetents.
