Frontier...?

Anything Frontier does is going to be met with complaints that they've done that and not some other thing.

It's not necessarily a zero-sum game. It's actually surprising how many things in real life aren't. The game has bugs. No disagreement there. But as others have pointed out, not everyone working for Frontier is employed to do that work.

You might as well complain that their accountant just sits there doing sums all day while they could be debugging the game...
Well, since they have to be really good at sums - and programming is just numbers and logic and <redacted> they might do a better job at it (no offense fdev - just saying).
Accountants still do sums? You do realise it's 2019? We have these machines called computers to do the sums now. An accountant mostly translates the numbers into something the mangers/shareholders/taxman can actually understand.
That's why you don't see bookkeepers anymore, their jobs have been rendered obsolete by Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, etc.
Next in the firing line are the middle ranking accountants though the top level of accountants are essentially beyond the reach of automation.
I may be one of the last who can still do mental arithmatic...

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
The team fixing bugs in Elite is not the same as the team rolling out the new forum.

Also, Frontier is a company with more games cooking than just Elite. They'd be fools to let their forum atrophy as it will hamper them when they release future titles.

Can't tell if you're being serious or not.
But if you are .. the guys that write/work on the website are not the same guys who work on Elite Dangerous. It's not even the same (programmming) language.
Quite serious, good sir

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️ lol - someone didn't read the thread ;)
I did indeed

Guys... bare with me... I'm TRYING to learn the multi-Quote thing, so I don't post 4 or 5 posts at a time, but it isn't working as I'm thinking it should... But, alas, I am trying...

Oh we need a but more doom, we don't have enough in real life on TV.....
I'm joking by the way we got enough

I strongly doubt they don't care. I mean crikey I think they make some bad calls at times and certainly make mistakes but not care?
Silence and lack of visibility doesn't mean nothing is happening - frustrating as it is we'll just have to wait and see what they say and what they do.
In the meantime the game is still actually fun, rough edges and all :)

as a way of saying. meaning they don't care in no way enough (ofc in my opinion, which nihila vex will surely point out). and it's a simple matter of priorities, frontier has several cakes in the oven and they are not going to get nuts about some quirks in some of them because, obviously, people are eating cake enough. so why go through that effort just to do the right thing? it won't bring more sales. a new franchise will, massively. the choice is clear.

that's why i consider bug threads like these a bit naive. nothing is going to change because frontier has already found their optimal balance of quality and revenue. which is abysmal if you ask ME (just so nihila knows) but works well enough on the large population. a defect is still a defect, though, and speaks volumes.

"the people who fix the bugs are not the people who do the forum", tsk, tsk.

it's not about people but about will. they have plenty of people, they just don't give a damn and 'prioritise' other more lucrative stuff. is just work ethics are that low anb customers at large being apparently fine with that. times! now you know, op.

And how lucrative do you think a new forum framework is

Finished that off for you, znôrt.

since you seem to enjoy the luxury, in red and bold, to state the obvious that a poster's opinions are his own, i take you either have no opinion of your own or are in the happy posession of an absolute, definitive truth you don't even need to share? anyhow you found the secret of happiness! congratulations!

had to smile with the times new roman thing :)

And how lucrative do you think a new forum framework is

not as much as yet another game franchise projected to churn out $$$ over a decade. i'm aware op linked this to the effort spent on the forums, but i don't agree, i just explain why the priority of quality is what it is and not likely to change.

FDev are already working on three new franchises. Game 4 is due this year, game 5 due next year. Game 6 (international IP) is due 2021 and will start production later this year.

Meanwhile, New Era and interim updates for Elite Dangerous, and mini DLC packs for both Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evo.

They've 440 staff now and are continuing to hire, if you want to help go apply :)
