FSD Boost issue?

Hello Cmdrs. I have a weird problem that I haven't encountered before. I just supercharged my FSD on a neutron star giving me 259.78 range (Verified both on my 4 panel in cockpit and also in the galaxy map). Whenever I try to plot either a route or a single jump, it only plots a normal range jump for my ship (64.57ly or something like that). I have Fastest Routes and use Jet Cone Boost options checked off on the galaxy map jump / route tab. I have done hundreds of these things and have never had this problem before. Any help is appreciated.

You do mean checked ON for Jet Cone Boost and Fastest Routes, yes?

Also, it depends on what stars are in range. If you are in a location where there are fewer stars, and you don't have them all checked in the list, the computer won't calculate a big jump if it can't find your restricted type of stars to jump to.

Yes I have them checked on. I have tried it every which way and I cannot get it to execute a non normal jump utilizing the neutron boost currently applied and in effect on the ship. Plenty of stars in range only a couple thousand ly from bubble. I can see the boost is applied to my ship, the jump / route plotter just wont let me do a jump that is beyond the normal range of my ship. When I pick a single system in the range of the boost in breaks it into normal jumps with the first jump not going beyond what my ships normal jump range is. When I purposefully plot out a long route, the first jump is still constrained to my ships normal jump range. I am sitting in system refusing to leave till I figure this out lol, happy to give any screenshots that would be useful. Like I've said this isn't my first rodeo I have done plenty of times I just have no idea why its giving me problems now.

Does a simple relog help? Or even a recharge on the neutron star (while you're there) ?

I've had to manually look for and select systems with neutron boost for a long time now. The plotter does not like drawing lines. Should work if you select manually.

Menu log didn't help, trying a complete relog (Tried it again earlier but it can't hurt). I am wondering if it gave me fsd supercharged enabled and is showing me the new range with it, but for some reason did not apply? I will try a reboost and see what happens otherwise just give up on it and continue on my way, at this point it was rather for science anyway. I notice the route plotter is going very very slow today. Like taking a minute even to plot a few jumps out. Inara has also been down for me for awhile.

I guess you have to 'use up' the boost before you can recharge. So the only thing is to fly to a nearby star and go back to the neutron star and try it again.

Yeah I appreciate everyone's help. Just another victim of the ghost boost nothing to see here :) Attack Chimp mentioned it's happened to them so maybe its not a unique thing to me.

I've run into this too once or twice (out of however many hundreds of boosted jumps I've made). Although in my case, I was still able to make the jump I wanted. I just had to manually select (select not plot route) the destination system. The routing logic just refused to acknowledge that I had the boosted range.

^ AFAIK, boosts have never been taken into account by route plotting.

Fastest route + use jet cone boost should allow your plotted route to include Neutron Stars along the way. I’ve found it very useful in the past, not so much in the Bubble as it does take you to WD systems.

OP - If you’re an EDMC user I can highly recommend the Spansh route plotter app. Very easy to download and use. Just Ctrl V into your Gal map for each jump. As a VR user it’s brilliant as I just need to say “Ctrl V” and it does it for me. Maybe not what you want if you’re roaming but for the neutron highway I find it much better than the Spansh website (I may be well behind everyone else on this but it’s new to me,)
