Galnet News: Engineer Boost

Well I stand corrected. It was posts #2 and #5, with #6 clearing the misinterpretation.
The community must have been so confuzzled.

Oh my gosh, my fresh-out-of-the-box Clipper and Cutter and discounted FED ships right now too! So much to do! What do I want them to be? Where do I start? This game is hard.
Decisions, decisions...

I don't believe this is live yet or if it is it's bugged / not working. I've just finished my last remaining shield boosters on the Federal Courgette (augmented) and at G5, one took 7 and the other 9 which is no different to yesterday.

I wonder this is active on XB.

I discovered that my DBX was sporting only a G4 DSS... Such sacrilege
So i felt obliged to G5 it... Took me 8 rolls - which is as normal as it can be for a blueprint with a single improvement gauge.
Where on earth is that improvement? Cause i seriously seen none

Ship discounts, engineering changes, it's been years (that I recall) since a temporary lift on rank requirements for Fed/Imp ships, I wonder if that's in the pipeline.
Sort of doubt it, last year they doubled how fast you could rank up the Feds for a while and discounted their ships, a little while ago they did something similar with the Imps, so I think it is too soon.

I remember when we had to walk to the engineers, and it was uphill both ways, etc.
Remember when the first steps after flying out of the mailslot in your sidewinder was to go to the nearest anarchy system and drop into USS's hoping to find gold floating in space waiting to get picked up?

I will be glad to spend less time tracking down Proto Radiolic Alloys twitches but that was unforgiveable grammar that they used. My late English Master would have spat his tea and dropped his monocle.
I get that it means less rolls, so less mats used, but what they wrote does not mean that, by any stretch of the imagination.
At least there will be plenty of sodium chloride available now.

Yep. And it's great that they did this, I'm not complaining about that at all.

I'm just slightly put out that I hadn't done any engineering in months, and less than 48 hours prior to this I spent a day grinding HGEs and running around trading them away to finally get a bunch of expensive engineering done - burning up most of those materials in the process.

It's a timing thing. And logically I know there's always going to be that guy who just finished doing stuff the hard way 5 minutes before it's made easier - and this time it just happened to be my turn - but it's still a bit frustrating.

Of course if the whole process itself didn't suck so much to begin with, emotionally it wouldn't be quite as much of a gut-punch as it is.

But oh well, what are you gonna do? I'm certainly not going to complain about them making it suck a bit less itself, even if it's only for a short while.
