Title: FNV Formidable attacked... Again
Date: As soon as possible
Location: Galnet
Text:
A few days ago, members of Sirius Inc came to the aid of the FNV Formidable in G 99-49. A single SINC wing defended the Formidable from a pirate Farragut named Glory. After further investigation, we discovered this is not an isolated incident. There are numerous reports of the Formidable suffering "engine malfunctions", shortly before (or while under) attack by rogue Farraguts. This raises a number of very important questions: how many Farraguts are in private/pirate fleets? Are they targeting the Formidable... and if so, why? It is manifestly clear that the Formidable is in a bad state of disrepair. It's only a matter of time the Formidable suffers another catastrophic failure, and SINC may not be present to assist. We urge the Federation to retire this ailing Battle Cruiser, before it becomes a tool of anarchy.

TITLE: Unknown Probe Research Implications

DESCRIPTION:
Recent developments in the field of unknown probe research have raised numerous concerns among military strategists.

Today, Captain Alexis Corvus of Task Force Athena briefed the Imperial Senate on the implications of an offensively deployed unknown probe.

“The offensive potential of these unknown probes mustn't be underestimated. A single fighter with a discovery scanner and a probe in its cargo hold could disable dozens of spacecraft within range. A customized torpedo designed to similarly trigger its payload could be even more disruptive, allowing a hostile fleet to prey upon the disabled vessels.”

“The zeal with which the Federation has been collecting alien resources like these probes leads me to believe they have already considered these use cases. Moreover, the stationing of no less than five Farragut Battlecruisers in Merope would indicate this matter is of grave importance to them. If we mean to maintain the status quo, we must act prudently.”

Title: Jaques Place Calls for Well Brands
Date: 20 July, 3302
Location: Galnet, Eol Prou RS-T D3-94 Gazette
Text:

Starport functons at Jaques Station are still unavailable, but an important service has been restored for visiting pilots -- relaxation and recreation. The galaxy's most famous bar, Jaques Place, is open for business once again.

"It's taken a lot of hard work, and donated materials," said the legendary cyborg bartender, "but I'm thrilled to be pouring again!"

Although much of the bar's glassware was damaged during The Jump, enterprising pilots have brought enough sturdy and durable Hutton Mugs for beverage service to resume.

When asked what else the bar needs to keep running, Jaques quickly answered, "Well brands, and beer. You know, inexpensive stuff." Shipments of premium, top-shelf liquors have been rolling in, from Lavian Brandy to Eranin Pearl Whiskey, but many of the bar's patrons prefer to drink something more affordable.

"We're expecting two large groups with the August Exodus convoys, and they'll want something comforting after the long trip."

Title: The Myrmidon Initiative
Location: Galnet
Time: Not important
Description: The Myrmidon Initiative aims to establish a peaceful "first contact" protocol
A ground breaking discovery earlier this week proves that the Unknown Probes are capable of intelligent communication beyond that of the simple Morse code that was previously used by Unknown Artefacts. We would be foolish to deny the possibility of "First Contact" with another sentient race. The signs are already among us.

The Myrmidon Initiative is a collective effort to discuss a peaceful first contact protocol. Founded on July 11th 3302, over 500 supporters have already signed up. Among the Myrmidons are Federals, Imperials, Alliance, and independents speaking with one voice; We want peace.

We don't wish a curse upon those who oppose us, we won't seek revenge against Commanders who will not stand for peace. An alien war you bring upon yourselves will be your curse, and the death of innocents will be our vengeance. Should humans attack first, your ignorance will provide us all with punishment enough.

Title: Slow Going Repairs at Jacques Station
Date: 20 July, 3302
Location: Galnet, Eol Prou RS-T D3-94 Advertiser
Text:

Station Services at Jacques Starport Continue to remain unavailable despite a record number of tonnes of meta alloys delivered from the core worlds.

Technicans have attributed this to the unique nature of the nebula and services apart from market facilities were more damaged than first thought.

Jacques has asked that further deliveries of Meta alloys be held off as the station has limited storage facilities that are online at this time and the remaining room is required for industrial metals and minerals from nearby mining operations - investigations remain ongoing and technicans think they can begin repairing facilities in one months time subject to further testing and research

Jacques has requested power generators and all forms of legal liquor be delivered instead to supply visitiing commander traffic with booze from his now restored bar

With convoys expected in august jacques is looking forward to welcoming more visitors and full tourism services should soon be restored.

Title: Malfunctions over Merope 5C
Date: ASAP
Location: Galnet
Text:

After learning of the recent breakthroughs and findings in Unknown Probe research, Commanders have flocked to Merope in the hope of finding more clues to help decipher the meaning behind the encrypted image. One prevailing theory is that the image represents Merope 5C, where the first barnacles were discovered, and that there's something more to be found there. Upon scouting the moon, however, some Commanders have reported rapid decay in module integrity and outright module failure, with a few sent plummeting towards the surface after thruster malfunctions.

These reports alone, along with further increased activity of the Federation in the system, have made Merope a less than ideal place for pilots to conduct research and surveys. It is advised to exercise extreme caution above the surface of Merope 5C until the cause of malfunctions has been identified.

Title: A Mysterious Faction's Success
Date: ASAP
Location: HR 6421
Text:

In merely three weeks the Children of Raxxla gained control over the nearby systems of Pokomovoi and Daras, demonstrating that the group can be as influential and effective as they are mysterious.

It is unclear what methods they employed to gain the support of the local populations so quickly but interviews with local citizens suggest that the Children of Raxxla have been credited with the sudden surge in exports, which has greatly increased the wealth of the systems. The former controlling factions of Pokomovoi and Daras were not willing to give up the systems easily, despite dwindling support for their cause. This led to wars between them and the Children of Raxxla. In an unexpected turn of events, the Children of Raxxla won both wars with not only seemingly little effort, but also kept their true pilots' identities a secret while causing minimum disturbance for the local citizens.

It is unclear what the Children of Raxxla's plans are for these systems. Information on the faction remains sparse and unreliable at best. A recent rumour suggests that the group is looking for more peaceful solutions to gain control of nearby systems.

This will be published tomorrow.

Is Captain Alexis Corvus any relation of General Anthony Corvus?

That was the intent. Shooting for a hotshot daughter following in her father's footsteps. We were hoping to tie into a known Imperial military bloodline that is not verboten. Is that permissible?

If not, yeah, totally unrelated. Well, maybe distantly related. Like, a father's mother's brother's former roomate's sister's daughter's son's wife's brother's daughter's daughter. Yeah, something like that...

Title: Freelance Report: End of illigel slave trade
Location: 30 ceti, Cherang
time: not important
Description: With the control of the system we were able to start an investigation into 30 Ceti’s Dynamic & Co. who has currently maintained control of Lopez de Villalobos Landing. Although our haat beroya’s were unable to find evidence of Dynamic & co ‘s direct involvement, they were able to find in the security logs of a ship that was scanned and fined, for carrying slaves, and the high wake destination was also recorded as the Mahene system. Mahene was at the time, controlled by the Silver family, a known black market dealer. The system is now no longer under their control, thanks to the haat beroya’s secret mission to help destabilize the system and remove the Silver Family’s control of the system. With their defeat the haat beroya’s were able to free the slaves there and were able to find 96% of the missing civilian’s of Lopez de Villalobos Landing, with the info. They received from the freed civilian’s we now had some proof of Dynamic & co’s involvement, their leaders ofcource denied involvement and committed to launching an internal investigation on the matter. This soon produced the ring leaders of the conspiracy, though we suspect they were just the fall guys.
Now that the civilians have been returned to Lopez de Villalobos Landing, We can now focus on other endeavours that our holly Purdow is guiding us towards

TITLE: Remembering the Prism Senator

DESCRIPTION:
In the heart of Leeson City, the capital city of Chione, thousands of Prism citizens have assembled to honor the missing Senator Kahina Tijani Loren. Governor Valeria Larsen, who oversees many of the day-to-day affairs in Prism, shared the following thoughts with the Prism Herald regarding the absence of Senator Loren and the gathering.

“It is hard to believe an entire year has passed since Senator Loren disappeared. Whether her disappearance was foul play or voluntary we are still not certain, and the lack of closure has been difficult for the people of Prism.”

“It goes without saying that our people will not soon forget Lady Kahina, but I believe this gathering will help people come to terms and collectively let go of this singular woman.”

A candlelight vigil will commence at sunset and continue through the night in the Loren Piazza, near the administrative center of Leeson City.

Title:
Senator calls for action

Date:
Within the next few weeks

Location:
HIP 20277 and Calennero

Text:
The embattled Senator for HIP 20277, Cleon Aledon made a rare public appearance today at Fabian Dock. The Senator has fallen out of favour after the system came under the control of Calennero State Industries, and rumours surfaced that he had sired a number of illegitimate offspring as a younger man.

The Senator spoke for 40 minutes in a wide ranging speech which amounted to a thinly veiled call for the Empire to re-take the neighbouring Calennaro system from the independent Co-operative Calennero Shared.

Commentators speculated this was the start of a campaign by Senator to re-assert his own authority in HIP 20277. The senator seemed to stray off his pre-prepared speech at the very end stating “Calennero State Industries can’t seem to keep their own house in order, which probably explains why they disrupted mine”.

TITLE: GalCop Mobilizes to Aid Jaques Station

TEXT: Though it has only been a few weeks since contact was reestablished with Jaques Station, a substantial effort by independent pilots throughout civilized space to deliver meta-alloys to the stricken starport has at least restored partial functionality. With the commodities market reopened, the cybernetic bartender has issued an appeal for pilots to deliver the required components necessary to bring his station back up to full operational status. The Galactic Cooperative of Worlds in particular has pledged to ensure the success of this initiative, having already mobilized a substantial task force to secure a logistical supply chain and establish an operational beachhead in the surrounding sectors.

GalCop's Chief Executive Officer Jahena Yar Savor stated to the press that the Cooperative "intends to establish a localized resource base in the systems surrounding Jaques, in order to ease his financial burden in securing these resources out of pocket. As many of our member organizations and pilots were able to acquire substantial amounts of wealth during the Dangerous Games, we felt it would only be fair to leverage these assets to aid a friend in need."
