The spokeswoman of the Black Birds Consilium, Ms. Alvina de Messalina said today that many Black Birds CMDR arrived to Jaques Station. She said "The station has a strategic interest for everyone. It's far from the "bubble", and it's a great opportunity to have a "rear base" in case of a massive attack against mankind. Our pilots are currently in search of Barnacles. They support all the other pilots in the system. They can also control the security in case of necessity. The repair of this station is also our priority"

story:

Starship Enterprises has recently split from their sister company Blue Creative and established themselves as an independent entity within Lp 339-7. This split has caused widespread calamity throughout 339 and the situation, further inflamed by the Independent Values Party, has now spiraled out of control into a full blown conflict. SE are now in a state of civil war with the IVP, with Blue Creative sitting off in the sidelines to see the result. This situation has however provided SE with the opportunity to wrest control of one of the IVP stations in 339.

As SE currently have no real base of operations at the moment, the acquisition of Whitson Orbital is of critical importance.

Dr. Lewis Chapman, CEO of SE, has issued an appeal to all combat ready commanders to help them in their war to take Whitson Orbital and have somewhere that he, and his company can call home.

In a press release on Schiaparelli vision this afternoon, Her holiness ta Prudow, the holy Shadow, announced that plans are being made to launch an expansion and colonization attempt of a system somewhere in the area of Eol Prou Rs-T d3-94.
"The brothers and sister of The Order of the Shadow has been inspired by Jaques story, through prayer and meditation, I dreamed a dream of the great Spas Siuloir ar, as it gazes upon Jaques Station, then shifting it's gaze across the void.
The Order of the Shadow's path is clear, Toraiocht mhor will begin soon, An official representative will announce more details, and the rewards that await those that will aid us."
Toraicht mhor means a Grand Hunt, this can only mean that the system has not been chosen yet a exploration bounty will most likely be issued soon.

TITLE: Brewery ends slavery in Orishis

DESCRIPTION:
A few weeks ago, representatives of the Perez Ring Brewery (PRB) were shocked to discover slavery in a nearby system called Orishis, right in the middle Alliance space. Within days the company started a campaign to gain support among the local population with the ultimate goal to end those barbaric practices.

Unfortunately, the regime in Orishis decided to defend their lucrative business. When dictator Olek Martok gave orders to muzzle and imprison protesters, violence broke out. In a joint operation with local militias, PRB forces were able to end the fights within three days. While the whereabouts of Martok is unknown, it's certain that the newly established Alliance legislation brought long desired freedom upon thousands of citizens.

When asked about the Brewery's involvement in politics, Vice President Rodger Clay commented: "We advertise our Perez Beer to be 'a bottle of freedom', but that's not just a hollow phrase. It's important to us to provide basic human rights whereever possible. And today we're happy to announce that slavery in Orishis has eventually been banned."

Following the latest effort in Imperial Navy expansion overseen by Lavigny’s Legion, reports of the existence of a black market in Marker Depot have alarmed security services all over Carthage.

The people of Carthage and systems in close vicinity are rightfully concerned that such a depravity will attract criminals and enemies of the Empire to their door steps. However System Authority has not yet been able to crack down on this criminal network. It is speculated that the black market is an attempt at hindering the construction of three Majestic Class Interdictors.
System Authority spokesman Dale Emasirius has made the following statement:
“We urge all good law abiding citizens to report any suspicious activity to System Authority officers. This corruption will not be tolerated. We assure the people of Carthage that security and order will be enforced.”

The statement continued with optimism, as Lavigny’s Legion Commanders confirmed providing added security. All visitors to Carthage are encouraged to contact the Legionnaires for security escorts and other support.

TITLE: Federation retreats from the Merope system for unknown reasons

DESCRIPTION:
Commanders patrolling and investigating Merope today noticed that the Federal presence has quieted down to a minimum. Farragut Battlecruisers hovering over Barnacles have disappeared, seemingly to have picked up their combat air patrols, skimmers, and ground-based turret defenses. Former no-fly-zones have also been rescinded. Federal convoy lines have also vanished from the orbits of Merope 2a and 5c.

Earlier this morning, Commanders intercepted transmissions from the talkative Navy pilots, quoting them that they have "failed their mission," and that they seemed distraught. No details regarding their failure were revealed.

It is known that the Federation has been harvesting Meta-Alloys from the Merope system for some time now, but what caused them to leave is uncertain. What was the nature of their mission? Where were the Meta-Alloys going? What are their plans? And what will the Empire do now that the Federation is no longer occupying the Merope system?

TITLE: First Imperial Aid Mission Departs for Jaques Station
TEXT:

A flotilla of vessels carrying humanitarian supplies has departed Shajn Market in Kamadhenu this week.

The fleet is commanded by members of the Chapterhouse of Inquisition and carries several hundred tons of hardware destined to aid in reconstruction efforts at Jaques Station.

Patrons from a number of Imperial worlds funded the mission through an extravagant charity auction organised by Kamadhenu's Governor Shelby Ortega; the mission is expected to spearhead more aid convoys from other Imperial organisations.

Ortega spoke to assembled crowds as the ships prepared to depart:

“Stories of Jaques Station have long captivated our imaginations. All of us are humbled to witness the generosity of our Patrons when help is requested, and to be part of the Empire's wider efforts to resupply Jaques.”

“I'm proud of the pilots who have volunteered to make this perilous voyage of over 22,000 lightyears. They will strive to reach out to those in need, in the Imperial spirit of exploration and solidarity.”

Security was on high alert today in the Luchoer system, as the well-known Communist agitator Etiene Denain came to the end of his four-year sentence at the orbital prison Truman Reformatory.


He was transported from the facility in a heavily armoured Core Dynamics Vulture. While the press were prohibited from entering the station’s no fire zone, many eyes were nevertheless on the military ship and its escorts.


The former slave is widely known throughout the Empire for his involvement in several criminal incidents over the years, and his organisation, the Twin Candles, has been linked to Communist uprisings in several frontier systems. Although he is on many official blacklists, his anti-slavery cause is an emotive one and he is believed to enjoy wide support amongst the Empire’s poorer worlds.


The Shield of Justice will no doubt be watching closely.

The Federal securities militia known as Adle's Armada has tracked the criminals known to have caused the security lockdown and technological plague in Ramsbottom Hub in the Segovan system in order to end the Federal military expansion and inquiry into the Pleiades sector. After a week or intelligence gathering, the famous group of Federal vigilantes has tracked the criminals back to their home system, Carthage where a massive expansion of the Imperial Navy was in effect.

"These criminals weren't just criminals, they were terrorists and we're exterminated as such." Said the head of the Adle's Armada combat arm, Mars Adle. The battle hardened leader insured that while they are Federally aligned, they are only hunting the combat ships of those that participated in the lockdown and terrorism of Ramsbottom Hub. According to first day battle reports, 22 terrorists have been eliminated by the Armada.

I kinda don't know where else to post this, so I'll mention it here... just putting it out there that I'm not trying to call anyone out on this, but I just kinda have to air this.

This whole thing kinda rubs me wrong. Back in December '15/January '16 I submitted a CG to collect UA's for exactly this reason: Conduct weapons research to create a new EMP-based weapon based off the UA effects (a "rare good" similar to battle weapons, but more illegal, or if that was "too close to home", convert a station to high-tech), given the UA's ability to interfere with/shut down stations. It got rejected 19 Jan because it was "too similar" to a planned CG, which was the first meta-alloys CG to repair Obsidian Orbital, launched 21 Jan.

And now here we are with a freelance article about UP's possibly being used as essentially EMP devices. Not Ian/Corrigendum's fault at all - impossible for you to have known, but the whole experience feels like a bit of a kick in the proverbial. There's a couple other things from further back that compound this, but that's just dredging for a whinge.

Sorry, but I just feel a bit spannered by this whole experience...

Content– Two wings of SEPP (Social Eleu Progressive Party) commanders have set out from Finney Dock on the 22 thousand light year journey to take rare, comfortable and warm Eleu Thermals to Jaques Station.

“Jaques needs a lot of equipment to get the station running again, it’s true”, said SEPP leader, Kancro Vantas, “and many brave commanders have already answered the call. But who will bring him the finer things so that crazy cyborg won’t freeze his lugnuts so far from the bubble?”

Though the Eleu Thermals are a gift to Jaques, the SEPP commanders would not reject some of Jaques Quinentian Stills in return.

“Warmth and good cheer”, laughed Kancro Vantas, “Warmth and good cheer for everyone!”

The first of the two SEPP wings bringing the Eleu Thermals to Jaques Station will arrive on 3/8/3302.

Our idea here is to set the scene for a call for independent pilots to take Slaves to Jaques Station, to release them. The idea is to galvanise the player base with a compelling reason to get involved with the Jaques story.

The second part to the above will be a call from the activist Etiene Denain for pilots to take slaves on the second expedition, leaving on August 15th. The departure point hasn't yet been finalised, but the content will be something like this:

The socialist dissident and anti-slavery campaigner Etiene Denain has spoken publicly for the first time since being freed from Shield of Justice custody.

The submission about him being released from prison sets the scene for this, so he's not a total stranger to people when the proclamation is made.

Is this something you can support? If so, it would be great to publish the first part early this week.
