can some one tell me what im doing wrong here ?

my last post has been rejected? not the first time ive submitted something and no response.

Really just want some pointers as i cannot see anything wrong with this:

Time: ASAP

System: Alpha Fornacis

Title: Dragons Rising

Turmoil is currently rising within Alpha Fornacis.

With the arrival of the Welsh Dragon wing, many groups are starting to feel their "hot breath" down the back of their necks, as they push for a more stable foothold.

A spokesperson for Alpha Fornacis Allied Corporation recent stated that "although things have been cordial since the rise of the Dragons, inevitably things are heading towards blows."
Though parties have stated that, on the whole, most of the current powers in the system are "booming" thanks to the efforts of this new group.

After much waiting around in Clement station, a reporter managed to squeeze a few words from one of the Dragons, " We are here, we need a base, sorry to allied but we need them to go..."

Hard words indeed.

If you're interested, there is a Discord server set up by Elite Dangerous writers for Elite Dangerous writers. (https://discordapp.com/invite/JcK8dTK) Stop by, ask some questions, get some advice.

That said, some pointers...

If you're trying to get news about the BGS happenings in a specific system published in local news, it is helpful to try to contextualize them within the overarching storyline in GalNet. Make the events meaningful on a larger scale, otherwise the auto-generated Local news already has that covered - and we all read those diligently, right?

Here are some examples from my writing:
(Descriptions and screenshots within the Spoiler tags)
In this article, I contextualize the "Boom" state with the tantalum demand introduced by the construction of the Majestic Class Interdictor in the Mundjiga CG. I went a step further, and referenced the storyline of one of the Elite Dangerous novels, Elite Reclamation. The Prism system was a hotspot during the "tantalum rush" brought on by the newest generation of hyperdrives. Chione, the earthlike moon in the Prism system, was rich in tantalum.

In these articles I wrote about some starports/systems that are affected by Unknown artefact malfunctions, and contextualized them with the storylines that were ongoing in GalNet at the time. The first came after an announcement that Palin would sell cargo racks that would allow Unknown Artefacts to be carried without module malfunctions. The second came after Carthage's Marker Depot was UA-bombed during/after the Majestic construction CG held there. I also mentioned the Segovan UA bombing in the second article, so in a way, it referenced two CGs and two UA bombings in two systems.

URiWo0E.png
In this article, I made an effort to reference the pending Civil Unrest / Lockdown states, and contextualize them with the ongoing Jaques CG requests, and the player initiative to bring slaves to Jaques station. As someone who was brought to Jaques station against my will (I pancaked my landing when I returned to the bubble and respawned at Jaques), I figured other people brought/stranded there would probably be as desperate (if not more than) I was to get back to civilization. So that made for good flavor text.

Anyway, I hope some of those examples help. If you have more questions or want more advice, I'd definitely recommend joining that Discord for Elite writers. There are lots of people on there giving one another advice.

Thanks Bud

That kinda does help,, just trying to get our little group back to excitement for our tiny corner of the bubble...may just drop in on the discord group at some point.

BREAKING NEWS

This message is for all of the citizen journalists of the galaxy. All of us "Freelancers".

My recent news report, published to Galnet on Tuesday, is evidence that our reporting on galactic events is extremely consequential.

The fact that I was allowed to report an event that occurred in-game using direct quotes from Commander Salome, a character based on official game lore, is evidence that there are certain in-game events that are going to occur that absolutely require that we, the players, take an active role in pushing information out to the community. The abduction of CMDR Salome was an event that could have easily played out in the pages of Galnet. Instead that information was seeded via an 'Advanced NPC' to a player while in-game. That player then reported his experience to Reddit and to these forums. I then took this information and generated a press release.

What does this mean?

It means that we citizen journalists have a responsibility to keep our fellow players informed of what is going on in the galaxy. There may be key events that occur in game that the majority of the player-base will never know about unless we take the time to report on it. It means that Frontier expects US to act like a community.

Please. PLEASE! take the time to submit news reports on anything remotely newsworthy that you encounter while playing the game or while reading the reports of other CMDRs. There are so many real, breathing, stories across the galaxy. We "Freelancers" have a unique opportunity to inform our peers. Every report that we submit that gets published become a part of the official in-game lore of the galaxy. We're helping to write history. Keep reporting Commanders! - Jaiotu / CMDR Finn McMillan

This ^^

100% This [up]

On a related note, I really hope FD consider introducing more "advanced NPCs" into the game, representing other prominent game lore characters. The Children of Raxxla are incredibly lucky to have Salomé as their figurehead, the only 'advanced npc' in game so far, and it makes a massive difference to how we perceive GalNet as players can actually interact with her and see it reflected within GalNet events.

The potential here for other groups to enjoy another avenue of roleplay is massive if FD embrace the CoR / Salomé relationship of storytelling and introduce roleplayed characters from lore.

Title : The Colonia Citizens Network engaged in the search of alien life ?

Content : Since the very first unknown artifact was found, the galactic community is excited by the fact that we are not alone in the Galaxy. And afraid too. Nobody has forgot the war between the Thargoids and humanity.
However, scientists throughout the galaxy are actively studying the artifacts, which seem to be turning up in increasing numbers, and some further and further afield.

Around Jaques Station, explorers are reporting the discovery of high numbers of ammonia worlds - leading to speculation that the Colonia Nebula could be a prime region for scientists to investigate the artifact phenomena.

Julian Winter, of the Colonia Gazette, wrote recently : "This question remains unanswered, and is one of the key things the scientific community will be examining. The Colonia Nebula Project will make the hunt for alien life a part of its mandate."

We tried to discover more about the Colonia Nebula Project without success. Security seems to be very high here.

We will investigate more and will inform you as soon as we have further news of what is going on out there.

Title: Hutton Orbital Radio Back On Air

Hutton Orbital Radio is pleased to announce that its full 24-hour radio schedule has resumed with a special “Hutton Resurrection” broadcast on 25th August at 7.30PM Universal Space Time.

Following a dastardly attack on Hutton Orbital station by a crack team of pirates lead by CMDR Majinvash of The Code, Hutton Orbital had been broadcasting intermittently from an emergency studio in CMDR Psykokow’s Orca, “The Yorca”, using a hijacked Lave Radio antenna. Restoration of a full service is now complete following weeks of tireless work by Hutton Orbital technicians.

A spokesman for Hutton Orbital Radio said “If anyone sees CMDR Majinvash, he’s in BIG TROUBLE. Replacing CMDR Cecil B. Trumpington’s booze collection cost even more than replacing the audio equipment”!

Tile: Worries grow over Federation-Empire relations
Text:Tensions along the Federation-Imperial border have reached a fever pitch over the last few days with Admiral Patreus' decision to construct 3 capital ships for the stated purpose of opposing Federal expansionism. Following recent antagonism in the Pleiades nebula some are worried this may spill over into full scale war.

Many independent systems located near the border have recently started small militarisation campaigns to ensure their security with a general for an independent System Defence Force in a statement saying, "We're already seeing more superpower activity nearby and with the recent Imperial statements goading the Federation, war is a real possibility and we can only lose when the superpowers clash."

In a brief statement a spokesperson for the Federal navy said they would monitor the situation and take any action necessary to protect Federal Citizens which has caused further concern with arms industry stock prices rising shortly after it was released.

Title: The Hunt?

Text:*NOTE: Original longer version
A recent broadcast showing off new ships and nav system updates - available to the public this October - was interrupted by strange transmissions that have sent pilots everywhere into a scramble.

The interruptions were a series of short holovids showing disturbing footage that have caused no end of speculation as to their origins and meaning.

The most astute observers also noted a binary coded message in the footage, and have deciphered it to say -

"We've found something. Something incredible. Something the whole galaxy will want to see. The truth.

We could show it to you, that wouldn't be much fun so instead we're going to play a little game.

To find us, look for a bounty hunter. To find more clues you'll need pre-logistics support in a system with one star, two belts, three rings, and enough radiation to turn you green. The hunt begins on the 28th"

A system that matches the description has been uncovered, and it appears to be PLEIADES SECTOR IH-V C2-5. This system has the celestial objects indicated in the message, and also a Federal Military outpost named PRE Logistics Support GAMMA.

As of yet, the community is split on the interpretation of the other clues in the message. Some of the more wild discussions have even mentioned the dreaded Thargoids, from the old spacers tales.

As debates rage on between some, others have taken to outfitting and modifying their ships to prepare for whatever may unfold. A grizzled old trader commented -

"My pops told me the stories, you dont want to go toe to toe with a 'goid mother ship. Lighten up as much as you can. Make sure you've got enough firepower to clear a path out and give anything on your tail something to chew on. Full boost and pray to Randomonius you get away. What they do if they catch you... Not even my pops would talk about that..."

No matter what else you believe, on the 28th August 3302, PLEIADES SECTOR IH-V C2-5 will be host to a hugely significant event in the history of human kind.

Shortened version below down to 202 words, is this ok? Most of the words are the decoded message itself and I do not want to take any of that out -

TITLE: Above and Beyond

DESCRIPTION:
Last week, as Federal fleets withdrew from AF Leporis, Brani, Di Kuana, Hanggardi, Korovii, Li Jungu, LP 701-7, and Matlehi, one commander’s contributions kept the Federation’s finest well supplied.

Commander Ardenon, who transported over 70,000 tons of garrison supplies at a personal cost of over 700 million credits, responded to an enquiry about his motivations, simply stating:

“Last week was not about profit, but about protecting the Federation.”

Federal Defense Secretary Niels Johnstone said of the commander’s accomplishment:

“So often it is the flamboyant, the vociferous, and the violent who are decorated and adored for their achievements. The squeaky wheels that get the grease, so to speak. Rarely do the selfless, the diligent, and the silent receive recognition for their feats. Commander Ardenon’s is one of those rare cases that deserves to be honored.”

“For his service to the Federation, Commander Ardenon is to be awarded the Federal Order of Merit, First Class.”

So what do you get as a reward for PP? Is it profitable?

/u/Ardenon
Depends on how you do it. If you undermine, you make merits at no cost and at rank 5 you get 50mil per week. If you fortify however, you take that 50mil and reinvest it in to supplies to keep your rank 5. Last cycle however was not about profit, but about protecting the Federation against factions that would like to keep us in turmoil. With our combined effort, we succeeded in getting out of it.

Commander Ardenon’s merits, as posted here:

Please note, the cost per fast-tracked merit is 10,000 credits. Commander Ardenon gained 73,649 merits during the previous Powerplay cycle. Though some of that was certainly the standard free allocation, it’s likely he spent in excess of 700 million credits to reach that total.

TITLE: Explorers encouraged to ignore Karl Devene

DESCRIPTION:
In response to Karl Devene, head of the Federal Astrocartography Department, and his latest warning to Commanders heading out into the black, an anonymous Admiral of the Federal Auxiliary Navy had this to say:

"Independent Commanders have been the backbone and boon of the current explosion of detailed astrocartographic data. To limit this would be a travesty, and a hearalding of a new Dark Ages, where only the major powers would influence and exploit contact with new civilizations, and new resources."

The Commander continued: "We've seen what the major powers have done with their "responsibilities", and it has oft ended in violence, rendition, and egregious curtailing of societal and technological development. Now you would deputise the authorities against the brave explorers who risk all for fractional gains? The Hell you say, sir."

When asked about this Commander's recent trip to the Pleiades, and his own discoveries there he had only this to say:
"Yes, I have been translating the Morse message from a recent UP message with its tail-end pointing to Sol and it is coming through now...
'Karl Devene, please go stick your head in a pig.'
What can I say? The metaterrestrials have spoken."

TITLE: Explorers encouraged to Boycot Federation

DESCRIPTION:

The independent explorers association is asking all independent pilots to boycott federation stations when selling cartographic data.

"We have been told what they think of us, we will continue to explore - but they will not reap the rewards. Personally I cannot think of anyone worse for handling 'First Contact' than a representative of either the Federation or Empire."

After the recent inflammatory comments by Karl Devene independent pilots are up in arms and are already calling his resignation.

TITLE: Pilot's Federation is disappointed in Karl Devene's remarks

An anonymous source from within the Pilot's Federation had this to say about Karl Devene's recent remarks:

"I'm disappointed that Mr. Devene's allowed himself to succumb to clear cognitive biases, stereotypes, and the ad hominem fallacy. Science is about observation and the scientific method -- not personalities -- and Mr. Devene would do well to reconsider the source of his long range exploration data, as well as the sources of his 20th-century thinking on matters of authority."

When asked to clarify what he meant by "20th-century thinking", the source clarified: "Science is not a top-down process, and Karl Devene is a servant to the people, not the other way around."
