...of Independent Alliances? ;-)

Not that I know of, no. Just because the Empire of Achenar and the "Federation" (of whatever) both tend to get reduced to their governmental system, doesn't mean they own the word. To be fair the full title of the Imperial Federation would be:

The Imperial Federation of Synuefe and Tucanae. But I was so free to mostly shorten it to its governmental system like so many before it.

That being said it consist of in gameplay term "independant" factions. I don't see a reason to ask FD to switch their allegiance to Empire proper. It is not necessary to roleplay it.

Title: Humanitarian Crisis tearing down political barriers
Location: HIP 113812
Time: between september 1st and september 7th (during the Famine in the system)
Description:

In times of crisis and despair, with the system plunging into chaos, a raging civil war and a serious famine crisis, help is coming from the most unnexpected of places. A small wing of Commanders bearing the flag of the Independent Alliance of Systems has been seen shipping loads of food, aid, and relief packages into Encke Dock and Bertin Bastion, even while being shrugged on by some of the local imperials.

The flight leader, CMDR Fozzimus, commented:
"It's the least we can do... we haven't been able to help every single system in need, but standing idle is not something me and squad are willing to do."

When questioned about the political consequences of their actions, the wing replied that there are more important issues to be dealt with than the icons and colors painted on their ships.
The local authorities released an official note thanking every commander assisting.

Last chance to see the Col 285 and Alrai sectors?

Title: Last chance to see the Col 285 and Alrai sectors?

Location: Galnet, or Kocab, Coritab, Darian, Freng, Lunduwalaya, Vanayequi, Eol Prou RS-T d3-94, Maia, Sothis, Ceos, Robigo, Quince, Sol, Achenar, Alioth, Eravate, Lembava and HIP 72043.

Time: Immediate but not urgent

Description:
With the recent announcement from the United Research Council, thrill seekers, nature lovers and beach bums alike have been wondering what is in store for their favourite holiday hot spots in the Col 285 and Alrai sectors. Despite assurances from the major powers that the region will remain free from their influence, rumours abound that many governments are slowly being coerced by unknown astropolitical forces.

What changes these forces bring to the tourism sector remains to be seen, but since the current trend in the galaxy is to move from fun-loving to doom-mongering, I recommend booking your last minute holiday to the area while you can still get tickets. If you've never visited this little known corner of the Orion spur before then I highly recommend Obambivas, which has a stunning natural earth-like world filled with bizarre native flora and fauna. With the current economic uncertainty, stocks of Vanayequi Ceratomorpha Fur are likely to sell out quickly, so get your souvenirs for the family back in Kocab before you leave.

Title: CCN CALLS FOR GROUPS TO PLEDGE SUPPORT TO NEW COLONY
Locations: Jaques Station, Kamadhenu, Cubeo, Harma, Eotienses, Gateway, Rhea, Lembava, Polevnic, Nanoman, Synteini, Sol, Achenar
When: 02/09/3302
Content:

On Monday 22nd August, the Colonia Citizens Network (CCN) was launched to provide a structure for the Colonial society. The CCN numbers almost 550 colonists, with more joining every day.

CCN is a network of groups active in the Colonia Nebula. As such it is diplomatically neutral and endorses no political agenda.

Two militias have already pledged their support and have joined the Colony’s own security team to create a joint task force of different military groups coordinating over security and defence of the Colony.

CCN has called for all other military groups planning on establishing a presence in the Colonia Nebula to join the Colonia Militia Forces. Their spokesperson commented:

“This is a great opportunity to present a united front to any aggressors out there, and to gain the trust of the growing civilian population that is going to be the bedrock of this new Colonial society.”

Location: Deneb Algedi
Title: A New Menace Arrives in Deneb Algedi

Description:
The Deneb Algedi system has endured its fair share of turmoil over recent months. Its factions have found no short supply of reasons to war with each other. In all cases the system’s governing corporation, TL Armoured Transport Company, has maintained order in the system and the people have responded with growing confidence in their leadership.

Of late however, a new threat has arrived which threatens to destabilize the system more than any civil conflict: The flow of illegal narcotics.

Not much yet is known about their origin, though an anonymous source within the TLATC System Security force has confirmed that the illicit drugs has been streaming into the system through Fadlan Refinery for the better part of three weeks now. As a result, productivity in the system has fallen, while crime has risen at an alarming rate.

TLATC representatives refuse to comment on the situation while an investigation is ongoing, but did release a statement reminding the citizens of Deneb that trafficking in narcotics is a violation of Federal Law, and anyone caught engaging in such activity will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Title: Better Late than Never

So... no love for PT, even in local news? Considering the magnitude of what happened in this system (UA bombing, Granger Hunt, etc), I'm greatly disappointed. The inclusion of PT in AUG 28th hunt came as a surprise to us; I don't think some recognition of this fact (in a system that we've controlled for 6+ months) is unreasonable. Would it help if I created some disposable NPC mouthpiece?

Title: The sound of Witchspace?

Description: Excitement is building in scientific communities as rumors of an unexpected find at Jaques Station continue to spread. While in the process of replacing the damaged astrogation hub at the station, technicians from the Institute of Galactic Exploration and Research (IGER) discovered curious data fragments that seemed to be nested within a wider structure of disrupted navigational data. Speculation is now going on that this might be trace recordings of the curious sound of witchspace that was reported by the station owner during the recent spectacular misjump of the station. One astrogation specialist on site acknowledged the find while urging caution: "It is way too early to draw any solid conclusions, but from what we can determine, this is not just your everyday anomalous FSD telemetry - I believe there are some truly eccentric hyperspace trajectories to be recovered here." Instead of being scrapped for spare metal, the damaged astrogation hub is now instead to be taken back to IGER scientific facilities in Hip 72043 to undergo additional analysis.

Title: Silence of the authorities

Description: It has been over a week since the disappearance of Salome in the Cemiess system and there seems to have been nothing but silence from the Authorities. Speculators have commented that focus seems to be placed on the assassination attempt on Admiral Patreus. One bystander commented "It seems power overrules justice in this system, typical of the Empire to silence those who speak out against them".

Much has been made recently of Salome's connections to Lady Kahina and some have even speculated that she may be behind the attack on Admiral Patreus. Whatever the truth behind Salome recent events have certainly sent shock waves through the system.

There are even rumours circulating that a small team of commanders will continue to harass the authorities in the system until they are forced into a lock-down state until justice for Salome is pursued.

Grubby, ill-prepared, and honking mad

Title: Grubby, ill-prepared, and honking mad

Location: Galnet, or Kocab, Eol Prou RS-T d3-94, HIP 72043, Varati, Maia, Eleu, and Alioth

Date: Immediate, but not urgent

Description:
Almost 65000 light years from Earth, navigating The Abyss, the wonder of sub-ether radio allows me to keep up with current affairs. A lot has happened recently, not least the discovery of a crashed spaceship of unknown origin. Upon hearing the warning to explorers from Karl Devene, chief Federal star-measurer, I wondered what it meant for me.

Grubby and ill-prepared? That sounds like me. Here I am, out in deep space on the far edge of the galaxy, exploring, searching, experiencing the total perspective of infinity. As a destination, it’s amazing, to gaze in wonder, but there’s not much else one can do with it – well not since I trashed the SRV looking for Polonium. I have no choice but to explore, and to use all my toys to do it. Jump, honk, scoop, if shinies then scan else repeat. If you take away exploration tools then this gets reduced to jump, scoop, look around, repeat. Almost half as fun. So if I heed Mr Devene’s warning of “you can look but you can’t honk” then the trip to Jaques will be twice as dull.

That’s unless I run into some big green monsters. I’m not specifically looking for aliens, but if I happen to bump into them, they needn’t be afraid. I have no weapons, flimsy shields, and myopic scanners. I’m more interested in what they look like, where they’re from, and what they had for lunch. The worst I could do is invite them onboard for a cup of tea, since the cow’s milk ran out months ago and I can’t offer guests the alternative. Imagine how offended I would be if the boot was on the other foot. Grubby and ill-prepared I may be, but at least I’m no threat to them.

CMDR Mad Billy, FGE Sagitarrius-Carina Mission, Institute for Galactic Exploration and Research

I know it's long, Italics are the most obvious bits to be edited. Also, whilst I'm on the FGE Sag-Car mission, I wasn't sure if it now came under the umbrella of the IGER or not so Corbin (who I think is probably following this thread right now) might say to remove this reference.

Cheers :)

There are a number of criteria we ask writers to adhere to when submitting articles for publication. If a submission isn’t chosen for publication, it isn’t necessarily because we feel the subject isn’t newsworthy.

And what criteria did I not adhere to? I've read every page of this thread, and your decision (like many) seems arbitrary.

When something happens in our sandbox... especially systems (Pic Tok & Ngalia) that were focus of CG proposal I sent (3 months ago), you'll understand our confusion. We didn't get any notification about PT before AUG 28th hunt (which I understand)... we didn't get any mention in news (just a bunch of confused CMDR traffic), explanation for sudden cure of UA malfunctions, or an opportunity for "RP validation" in our own systems.
