Galnet & Twitter: "an unknown vessel needs our help!"

From what was said in the post, we might be reliant on Cmdrs who were already in the vicinity having received a message, rather than turning up and hoping to get one or find something.

Which might make things a little bit tricksy! 😉

Well, we were told there would be far less clues...

None is, I suppose, far less :ROFLMAO:
😂

Dunno if I’d say that it constitutes none though.

Taken literally, it’s just saying that cmdrs who were in the area may have got another part of the message. It’s just a jigsaw, but with the challenge that various people have each got a piece, but we don’t know who they are, and they might not know they’ve got a piece themselves, or where the board is on which the jigsaw is being put together! 😉

As far as I can tell, in this case we need to search 80LY around point where transmission was received to find something. I think it's designed to not be done alone, but rather as community effort.
Ah I see, thanks for the heads up.

Saves me logging in then.

Yeah, someone organise the search, because otherwise a lot of people will duplicate their efforts and waste time.
That's probably the idea behind it, EDO is still some time away....

Could be fictional ships. I'm thinking that there may be local Galnet reports with more clues to narrow down the search volume posted at stations in systems nearest to Swoilz XX-D C1-30, fictional commanders might have stopped to report the signal. The Adamastor event also involved a local Galnet report that you could only read while docked stations in Chukchan.

Per EDDB, the closest station to Swoilz is in Col 285 Sector AG-O d6-83, about 105 ly away. Also, there's an asteroid base in HIP 83506, which is about 135 ly away but stands out because it's isolated.

Or...

The event is currently broken and there's a clue in Swoilz that isn't appearing correctly.

I think the community needs to split up, search the systems, report anything we find back here.

I think you may have to use your discovery scanner and also scan nav beacons to identify signal sources in each system.

... or, after a day or so Galnet will publish a report from another pilot in a nearby system with an approx range, allowing triangulation?

following that Halloween event they wont be giving anything away until they are good and ready, I wouldn't even be surprised if there is nothing there yet in game
all they would have to do is keep an eye on the searched systems and when the unsearched drops below a set point chuck it in then

The halloween event was only solved so quickly because of a hunch and a good bit of luck.
Maybe we won't be as lucky this time round.
I guess we'll see.

interesting! logically any station 160 ly from swoilz could potentially have a local galnet.
