Game unplayable both OPEN and SOLO, Frontier please fix your game!

Did your PS4 and Laptop lock up completely and you had to press reset?
If you were reading my posts in this threads then you would know the answer to this. The rebuttals to my posts have been, "I don't see any warm weather rubber banding, therefore it's not global warming a bug in the update."

Do keep up :p

And if you were reading my posts (and the posts you quoted) you would know that the temperature discussion was about someone who has complete lock ups while is CPU is at 80C.
Implying that all bugs must be caused by FDEV regardless if they are related to rubber banding or stuttering doesn't help anyone.

Did his 80 degree CPU lock up before the update? Does his 80 degree CPU lock up while playing other games? One need not be Sherlock Holmes to reach a logical conclusion regarding bugs vs. hardware when it comes to Elite Dangerous.

As someone who solved a few thousand problems I disagree. If other people would report the same issue, chances that it's caused by the game would be very high. Currently I'd say chances are 50/50, either the game or the computer. If something is behaving odd I'll investigate it rather than waiting for an update that might or not might fix my issue.

As someone who ...
We can all play the "as someone who [insert profession to win an argument]" game in this forum. I spent plenty a year as a professional trouble shooter, that includes troubles on a nuclear submarine. Let's stick to facts rather than beating our chests like cave men, lest we break our pocket protectors.

I have not seen the other issues from OP, however the rubber banding and general stuttering of other ships has certainly been more prevalent in and around stations particularly. I have also observed similarly odd movement issues whilst in SC also.

I am not trying to 'win' an argument, just trying to apply common sense. Your position is 'all bugs must be caused by Frontier', my position is 'maybe, maybe not'. His game locks up in the main menu. I didn't see anyone reporting the same problem. For me that suggests it might be related to his PC. Without checking a few things it's impossible to tell what's causing it.

Your position is 'all bugs must be caused by Frontier',
My position is "Don't let Frontier off the hook for what are OBVIOUSLY bugs (specifically the rubber-banding and the stuttering, both confirmed by multiple CMDRs) by blaming these things on hardware instead."

Even if 80 degree guy has a hot CPU, this does not magically mean that these other observed and verified-by-players bugs should be ignored or swept under a rug like so many other bugs have been in this game. The OP is asking FRONTIER to fix this problem, not BablingTechnician, and I'm adding my support to his "bug report" (here, because I hate the Issue Tracker).

ps - ED did hard freeze on me this weekend, requiring me to 4-second power down my new PC for the first time ever. I'm not making a big deal about it because it only happened once. Would you like to troubleshoot my CPU for me?

pps - if 80 degree guy IS the OP, well, then, I suppose I'll have to eat my hat in that case.

Maybe you should read the discussion again.

You have to accept that EBL was entirely your own fault though.

I think that "80 degree guy" is referring to my post on page 2.

I am not the OP. I just jumped into this thread because, like OP, my crash symptoms even occur at the main menu.

BTW, my issue is with my GPU. The CPU temperature seems fine.

I don't think it's hardware and/or software issue, because my laptop is brand new. About 2 weeks. All drivers are up to date. There was no problem during the fights with other commanders 3v3 + NPC police. Everything was smooth. Rubber banding is present around and inside the stations.

I bet it's a bug. Now we have OP + us, here - reporting this problem. But we have also other commanders with similliar problem. Look here:
Just look at the time needed to jump from SC and moment later - at the ships on his right side. This Cmdr is PvPer. Do you think he would ignore his "dirty router", hot GPU, broken RAM and insufficient Internet connection?

And don't tell me that guy on the Xbox One also has a broken computer :p

Yup everything works fine. I also checked my internet speed and it's where it's supposed to be (50 Mbps). When I launch Elite the game keeps freezing and stuttering though.

Okay, thank you. Please bear with me. Have you done anything in the BIOS, such as adjusting the speed of the RAM, for instance? I found out to my cost that this may cause no end of problems, such as BSODs, CTDs, stuttering... Oh, and it also caused my USB ports to act up, messing around with my Oculus Rift S. Fascinating.

There are way too many people having the same problem, I would be very surprised if this particular issue isn't caused by the game.

As I said earlier I would recommend checking a few things, I doubt that a GPU at 80 C crashes your PC though.
