Just to remind people they have said the following in various threads
It is an announcement for PC (So nothing to do with xBox release dates or PS4)

It is not Walking around
It is not Thargoids

CQC will be available on XBox tomorrow - gosh anyone would think there was a show going on, or something. But only in beta, of course. PC/Mac are getting it live the same day that XBox does. After the beta. Normal FD betas are far too short and expose lots of bugs that do not get fixed before the feature is declared to be live. Personally, I would like to see them do a proper beta for once, not that I really care since CQC is not something I will play.1. CQC coming out for XBone on that day available for download straight away.
2. CQC coming to PC/Mac in less than a week.
3. Thargoids.
It's not walkies, it's not planetary landings and they've already paved the way for factional warfare with Powerplay. Thargoids will be the big announcement and it will be a game changer as it forces everyone on a side forced to defend the space they've carved out for their respective factions. Thargoids will be a direct thread pushing controlled space.
Hi everyone,
The second Xbox One GPP build is going live tomorrow, there are significant server changes so the game will be offline from 9.30 am BST and will be online again by 16.00 BST. Here are the highlights of the build:
- Added CQC - which is also a 4th career path to Elite.
3 Game Modes - Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag
2 Maps
3 CQC Specific Ships (Fed Fighter, Sidewinder & Eagle)
15 Loadouts (5 for fed fighter, 6 for sidewinder & 4 for eagle)
3 CQC Achievements
1 Hero Stat (Progress to Elite)
- Implemented Friends management, including Wings, Voice Chat and GamerCards
- Improved frame rate in supercruise
- Various performance optimisations
- Will be updating powerplay on a regular tick to sync with PC time frame. (Note: XB1 PP will be reset when we launch Full Game)
Note that we are having to reset the first discovered exploration data, but are keeping commander progress including ships and modules (the same thing will apply when we launch the final retail version of the game) and scanned data.

I have that same feeling I get when I'm low on fuel. Dread sprinkled with optimism.
I fully expect it to be another silly minigame like PP, but I hope it's something with actual substance like PL.
As it stands, PP left such a bad taste in my mouth that I haven't played in a while.
There is a slight tendency to overreact when it comes to PowerPlay. It's just an additional bit of content targeted at players putting in so many hours and complaining that the game gave them nothing to do. It's a completely optional addition to the game and nothing more than a content layer where there are so many complaints that the game lacks content.
Honestly, if they had made it so you didn't even know about PowerPlay unless you got a top rank with a faction and met a contact that enabled you to enter an Elite group of influence, I bet hardly anyone would have moaned. It'd be like an awesome deep complex mission structure. It's only that Frontier wanted everyone to try it that made it feel like a critical part of the game and fairly shallow.
