About sums it up tbh, like the 'half baked' comment about the multiplayer which also happens to be true. The game isn't finished, we all know that, features are incoming, so time to let FD get on with it and see where it leads. So what are the real problems with the game then?
Crappy multiplayer involvement - check
No fully offline mode - check
Lack of player involvement in the universe - check
Terrible planet textures in Sol - check
Plus many others, still doesn't stop me playing it though

Not my job to educate you on the dynamics of a conversation. go back and read the conversation and you will learn for yourself (hopefully), why the term came up. Funny that you reference real life...in real life, people know how to follow a conversation and don't consider the mere mention of a piece of a metaphor/comment to be a threat. Grow up a bit.

Yep. Lots of areas that can improve but I'd rather be playing it now than sitting around waiting for perfection. I've had more fun playing this over the last month than any game I care to mention over the last decade.

The most interesting thing about metacritic IMO is the amount of user reviews there is.
Elite has when I write this 441 user reviews about the game (with a user score of 7.7).
Far Cry 4 has 472 (with a user score of 6.4) and has been out much longer.
That a niche game like Elite can generate that amount of traffic and feelings among the player-base compared to "mammoths" like Far Cry is pretty encouraging IMO.
Indeed, i ve remarked the same thing. Feelings are running wild given the rivalry with SC (shame because it does not need to be a zero sum game)... But I am pretty sure quite a lot of the 0 and 10 are actually the same reviewers creating additional accounts and scoring multiple times.

Ive read from the start of the conversation .In real life and strangely also on the internet threatening people based on their groups/races/colors/sexual preferences is not accepted .Using the term "fanboy" is not accepted either its an insult from you .
I agree that fanboys that dont think critically only hurt a product, but dont forget that unique and fresh concept that this game represents. and that its doing this on a single-shard for the world! theres plenty to be positive about, and to look forward to.

Perhaps '7.8/10: Skyrim in space'.
I remember they rated a Football Manager game about a 2/10 because there was no graphics. I think it said something along the lines of pick up Fifa instead, its more fun.
