So it's a codec issue!

The issues you talk about are not affecting everyone, and judging by the comments in the forums, only a small amount of people, you might think it's "LOADSA" people, but if it was there'd be 1000's of postings, not the handful that's evident.
Yes it can be frustrating, but screaming "IT'S BROKEN FOR ME FIX IT!" isn't going to help matters.

Who'd've thunk it! Using a "dodgy" codec pack causing it. Good to hear this is fixing it! (might teach you to keep away from such things in the future) :)

For all of the rare goods trading guys - Belalans leather seems to only restock 2 items. I purchased them then waited around 10 mins and then woo... another 2 items. So quantities of rare goods seem to be well and truly nerfed. Not a hell of a lot of point trading belalans leather at least.

I deactivated vsync and changed from full screen to borderless. Now the game didn't crash anymore.

2.01 window, crash, I am going to get a sandwhich now and watch some TV. Automated report send 2 X so I take a peak tommorrow again.

Actually, if you look around, the issue with 2.01 crashing on startup has affected a lot of people, and they are posting about it.

Problem is not with any third party codec packs. Amazing that other games don't crash because of it. Problem is with ED plain and simple, don't lay the blame on a completely unrelated and useful piece of software.

Yes, but as I said, only a "few", not a lot. As I said, there would be 1000's of posts otherwise, not the handful there are. (2 dozen is not a lot) :)
