They might be using Amazon's Cloud Server infrastructure, but they may not have provisioned enough servers to scale up to due to larger than foreseen demand... maybe?

We should hope they are using AWS infrastructure.. That being said, if they are, they don't appear to have provisioned autoscaling very well either for either the game servers (or website for that matter), or have placed some arbitrary (read "financially driven") limit on it. Certainly AWS has the capacity, globally, to deliver this service.
 
I'm too unable see any station in my contacts.

Cost of fuel is a bit harsh starting out with 100cr in the back pocket, but I'll deal with it.

Managed to get into open game no problem, started seeing flickery stars then ship started teleporting about inside a space station like quicksilver, near landing pad BAMPH other end of station BAMPH embedded in a wall :(

Think I'll leave it be for now.
 
The first gamma build will be released in a little over an hour. People will be kicked from the server shortly . Here is the change log for the build:

- Playable area no longer restricted to beta bubble
- Playable ship Python added
- Playable ship Orca added
- Kickstarter starting ships and locations added
- Freagles added
- Capital ship events added

- Fix crash following docking and accessing starport services
- Fix for multiple input devices not working - for example pedals and throttle from multiple input device controllers
- Chances for USSs increased
- Fix for cargo hatch not ejecting any cargo when malfunctioning
- Workaround for AMD white lines issue
- Check to make sure the target is this machine that this machine is ready to receive authority
- New games account for fines, bounties, and permits
- Added missing text strings for Federal and Imperial missions
- NPC Comms in Another Castle Unidentified Signal Sources should now only display the new target destination rather than listing multiple destinations

I'm having fun:) Helped local vipers down a pirate NPC, watched a firework display at a station I docking at (loitering player) and then had to dodge 2 Anacondas at the entrance. Good times.

Just entered a system with a class B star, 3 solar radii rotating very very quickly. BD+08 1303 B, not terribly sure it's meant to be, but it *is* awesome looking.
 
problem in safe disingage ready in HUI MINES, press button for escape from hyper drive when appaer "safe disingage ready" but game was blocked there, after one minutes game was closed and was open a windows from frontier where it says "was a problem"
 
Annoying things..

Interdictions happening every 2 minutes of supercruise, i can set my watch by it.
Scanner range resetting every time you enter supercruise
Supercruise being slower if you go from station to station in-system (it's actually faster to jump out of the system and jump back in, in some/many/all? cases)
No change log indicating the change that platforms now have commodity markets
Dropping out less than 1000km from the station, but having to re-enter supercruise to get a "safe destination lock", even though you nailed it the first time.
 
Seems ok to me. Grabbed my eagle, ticketed a couple of minor bugs and checked out the ios app.

All working really nice but suffering from a bit of a hangover from which my friend tells me last night I had 24 shots of jager ended up drunk flying killing players, getting killed by players and trying to take out anacondas and pythons in a basic sidewinder for a good 3 hours until 6am.

Early night for me tonight and then I can dig in properly tomorrow :D
