Meh. Really meh. If I'm promised an insurance discount, I expect that to include the entire ship, not just the hull.

Means "insurance is covering 98%" (as opposed to 95% IIRC, or 96% for beta backers). But it only applies to the hull now, making the discount almost entirely pointless.

Not sure that's huge issue. I always viewed insurance discount as something I personally don't want as I don't plan to die that often for it to be useful. With loan system this is non-issue for newcomers, and with expierence and hoarded money it is usually non-issue for experienced alpha/beta testers.
 
Anyone else had the docking pad holo-lights and number dissapear on approach? In a big station this can be a big issue as you have to sort of guess which pad you are meant to dock at.

Yes, I think FD are carrying out memory tests for the pad you are supposed to go to- its getting like 'The Cube' in there!
 
I have been playing with no problems since Gamma started.......Clocked up over 100 hours....I find it hard to see why others have SO many issues with this build.

Happens from time to time. Not really a problem in big stations, as the nav indicator always points to your designated pad while you're inside the docking area.
Worse is the landing pad schematic occasionally not showing up; that's no big deal with a Lakon Type-9 or an ASP, as they provide excellent downward view, but for ships with poorer cockpit view I can imagine it might be more of an issue.

Agreed. Why would they do this. This is terrible timing and I cant imagine a single reason that makes sense to nerf the insurance discount people got by supporting them pre-launch.

probably around 100 crashes/disconnects on 2.05.
3 in 2.06 but i've only been playing for about 15minutes.

Gtx770 and a i5 4670 so I'm not toaster gaming, build is gimped. You've just gotten very lucky(also your prob EU?, server issues seemed to be hitting NA mostly last night)
 
Judging by artifacts FD still seems to struggle to get a hang on UPnP broken implementations. For those having disconnects and knowing how to forward ports, try to configure ED via it's configuration file for specific port, and forward it in your router - and see how it does improves things.

Also you can try turn off UPnP altogether too.

I don't know if this relates to my black screen (game not starting) issue but I've done all this too. I just thought at some point of my troubleshooting that the black screen would be network related. To be honest I don't know where to look anymore.

I believe that must be very frustrating :( But yeah, black screen most likely is different issue than networking. Complete wipe and reinstall, and maybe even OS reinstall? I don't know.

can't speak for EU but U.K. was having the same problems, well at least I was - which may or may not amount to the same thing!
 
Can't login at all. Guess I'm in for another rep hit when mission timer expires. *sigh*

Yeah, one thing I'd like to see is if the server is down, mission timers freeze. At least now cargo stays labelled as 'haulage' and not 'stolen'. Do other missions give a rep hit or fine when they are failed by mission or is it just Trade missions. Fortunately my fines were minimal (maybe 3k total) but rep hits are never fun.
 
Why do this FD?

As modules can be multiple times more expensive than ship, it gives a bit more advantage to us than FD is ready to give.

Please report all your problems with connections to FD - so they can maybe discover pattern here and improve it for tomorrow's 1.0. Include your configuration types on router, logs, etc.

Personally, I'm not bothered. I'll take the discount because I think I'm entitled to some rewards for the testing and ticketing. It generated a lot of hot air when it was first mooted so I don't think we need it all again. This is probably what they intended all along, it's just clarification ahead of release.
 
I've got manual udp port triggering setup.

2 and half hours Solid play
No hyperspace forever, bugs ,
no CTD,

I'm just hopping star systems, simple discovery, , not trading, no cargo hold.

I've been interdicted once and died. (I should have run, when I had the chance)
Fuel scoop message stays on a bit longer on screen, sometimes.

SO far so good.

Just because it's working for you does not mean others are having the same experience. Why is THAT so hard to understand?

I am currently getting kicked out of every session I enter with 'server could not be adjudicated' error.

& when I could earlier on today, pad numbers are still flickering/not working in most cases, stuttering is still prevalent when exiting SC. The whole thing is unfinished.

Not an issue in the sense of being wrong or some such. But disappointing anyway.
 
Game just crashed right after I flew into a station. was kinda halting to see where my pad is (pad numbers still showing or not showing at random), next moment screen freezes, no controls, not that it would be any use. Last thing I hear as I shut down the client with Task Manager is "shields down"... very nice.

You can't imagine how much I hate online games cause the action continues while your client is frozen or disconnected.

Anyway, launcher wants to upgrade... 2.06. I wait for the sync, start the client again - "start" stays greyed out permanently, but Client does not say "unconnected" either...


EDIT 1) Ok, it seems to be a repeating crash now upon entering Galileo station.

As soon as I'm inside the door, still in the center, the screen freezes and Nvidia GPU (GTX 870m) reports a recovery...


EDIT 2) Switched resolutions, changed to borderless display and limited frame rate to 30 fps.
Didn't try to stop right after entering but flew on a bit further and then came back to my landing pad. Managed to actually land without crashing, but as soon as I started the Station Services panel, screen turned black and game froze again.

You seriously broke something or other, cause I've been playing with zero issues for the last 5 hours, using this station continuously.

From UK also, (Teesside) had very few disco issues over all running 100 mb Virgin connection and like andyseam put it maybe I am lucky, also.
