General wants in Odyssey, basic FPS STUFF without the FLUFF.

From what we could see of the trailer, that seems to be how the jet packs (and come to think of it the SRV boost) work.

Hmmm, I do wonder how long the jetpacks can fly for? - or if they are simply going to be 'jolly jumpers' with brief moments of flight before recharging on the ground is required. I'd love to see a wheeled troop carrier similar in design to the M577 Armored Personnel Carrier from Aliens. https://alienanthology.fandom.com/wiki/M577_Armored_Personnel_Carrier

Although a hover style troop carrier might be easier and more practical (in terms of flexibility on rough terrain).
I believe there needs to be a means to move larger numbers of land forces rapidly over potentialy extended distances, whether that be via wheels or via hover.

Surely they will just be jump packs to break the players fall. NMS ish I would guess?
 
There are a number of fundamental things I wish for in Odyssey, obviously without asking for to much crazy stuff. Quite honestly, I do not know how FD will be able to seamlessly (or maybe not) incorporate this into ED. that being said. I would be quite happy with the following from a FPS view point:

1. Two weapons only (Main & Side arm), ammo limited to what you carry or find, please no "non-sense" in carrying 10 different rifles etc..
2. Med-kit / Revive possibility
3. REMLOCK suit oxygen limit (limit to x hours, otherwise find an Oxy refill station, go back to your ship, or die).
4. Gestures (Hostile/Friendly)
5. Direct Voice Comms in 200m radius, or whatever range. chance to negotiate with opponents if they are Player Characters
6. Ability to Pick-up / Drop Weapons & Equipment
7. No 3rd Person view, immersion breaking.
8. No loot boxes (Arx)
9. Use old-age design for Keyboard/Mouse FPS, Translate to console generation, not the other way around

Perfection. I want to hammer home my view on not having third person view as well. I want to be immersed in elite and if third person perspective is available you are forced to acknowledge and use it when you’re forced to consider actual players and I play in open play. That would suck. People camping behind things and looking around without any risk to themselves but only a click away from putting a bullet in your head.

This whole list speaks for me lol. Especially the 200m vicinity voice comms. That was so great in ArmA.
