Get long-distance carrier trips announced in your server!

At the Fleet Carrier Owners Club we now have an official discord 'Announcement' channel which you can follow and feed into your own server. The channel is called #final-call and we'll use it to give 24 hrs notice of carrier departures on the following routes:

Bubble - Colonia
Colonia - Bubble
Sag A - Colonia/Bubble/Beagle Point
Bubble - Formidine Rift
Bubble Area Tours
Other Epic Adventures

The carriers doing these trips belong to our members or to others CMDRs and posted with permission. To get this feature in your server, please do the following:
  • Hop into our server if you're not there already
  • Scroll down to #final-call
  • Click 'Follow' in the #final-call channel header
  • Choose which channel in your server you want the announcemnts to appear.
And that's all you have to do! When we publish a final call announcement, it will appear in your server.

Hmmm. Why would other fleet carrier owners care about where your fleet carrier is headed?
You should post in the "Fleet Carrier RIDERS Club" Discord instead 😜
They wouldn't. This is about connecting carrier trips with other servers, not other carrier owners. (y)

I love it that you no longer need a super-engineered ship to get to Colonia (& back) in a sensible amount of time and effort by hitching a ride on a friendly carrier.

It's going to encourage more traffic, boost the economy and enrich player interactions in the black.

Good idea @Ed Lave

Kind of spoils the game for those playing FC Roulette though, sponsored by Sky Bingo, with a stupid mustache man.

Joking aside, still a good idea mate :)

(play responsibly, and when the fun stops, stop)

What's the point in going to Colonia if you're just hitching a ride uptown? Its distance is its main distinguishing characteristic and why its compelling to go there to begin with.

For me, having compelling enough challenges getting to some places are some of the last scraps of actual exploration still left in the game. But, to each their own, and fair enough, I suppose. Not everyone cares for exploration, but then I wonder why they bother with a commute in the first place. What's the appeal?

Anyway, getting together with a nice lot on an adventure might be good fun regardless of the destination, so I can see the appeal there, even if I don't generally care for it so much myself.

A lot of hitchhikers are alt accounts trying to move around for whatever reason. Sure new players may lose out by not honking to Colonia, hitching means you lose that sense of distance, but i guess the game has changed, so we're just adapting with it. (y)

Colonia is just a stepping stone to new frontiers and new adventures - and maybe a new colony :)
