And I chose to fly a python long before they nerfed it, they changed that because it wasn't balanced, they should change the corvette's FSD for exactly the same reason. It isn't the only ship that needs changes either some are in a much worse state like the T9/T7 they need to change those too.

FD recently buffed the FdL. One of the things the players were screaming about was jump range. FD didn't touch it. What does that tell you? When the Python got nerfed, no one asked for that, but FD looked at their numbers and felt it was OP for their purposes. I think it's plain to see that FD considers jump range a valid balancing point, and that combat ships will suffer for it. By the way, I fly both the FdL, and the Python. Each for their own task.

You see if this was true you should be posting in an Anaconda nerf thread not this one

I was replying to another's post. I have zero issue with the current balance between ships. I look them over, and choose the ones that suit me. We just have to make out choices.

It doesn't work like that, if FD considers jump range a valid balance point the Anaconda needs nerfing, if it doesn't the sub 15's need buffing you can't have two completely separate balance principles going side by side without your balance being wrong.

The Conda has a size 8 distributor, it has full utility slots, great shields and the highest effective firepower in the game yet it also has the highest maximum jump distance, if anything that your saying about combat performance and FSD size holds true its overbudget, or if that is the bar they set and others must meet then the sub 15's are all penalized far too heavily for benefits that don't match up.

I genuinely think the only reason they didn't change the jump range on the FDL is because they set their game up with coded multipliers for mass, so If they upgraded its FSD they'd have to then adjust its mass, then probably change its thruster size and/or rejig all of the numbers associated with its maneuverability in context to its minimum/maximum mass thresholds. I understand why they'd think that was too much work for a tweak its almost a full stat rework, but I also think they should do it which is why I post in threads like this.

Player time isn't a balance stat and people get stroppy when you waste it as this current patch highlights, lots of players getting frustrated that to take advantage of the engineers they have to jump excessively and carry cargo/collectors in ships that are completely unsuited for it, leaving them with buying a ship they don't want to ferry upgrades, or enduring a slog in an unsuitable ship.

I have no idea why FD buffed the powerplant on the best combat ship in the game and I doubt I ever will, but it was much less work than changing the FSD anyway :p

This is obviously all just your opinion. FD and I see it differently. If the 'Conda is the superior ship, fly it. If FD sees no one using the 'Vette, they may change things. But, probably not the 'Vette's jump range, if how they view the FdL and Vulture, and Viper Mk III is any indication.

No one has really explained how having a low jump range is "balance", when the low jump range only affects the pilot and not other people.

I know that more than likely the jump range will not change and I'm fine with that. But I find it disingenuous to call something balance that only hinders the freedom of the pilot to move about.

The range doesn't bug me. Just means a few extra minutes getting around. But I wouldn't care if they increased it. Doesn't change anything for the actual fight.

the jump range is annoying on any combat ship even a anaconda combat fit gets 16 ly. its kinda the trade off.

Oh, you mean that quote where I comment that it'll take me almost 40 jumps to go 250LY? Yeah, I consider that relevant. Useless troll posts about how people are entitled because they don't want to do 39 jumps to go 250LY? Not really presenting anything arguable or relevant.

you are carrying prasemodymium, I assume you are upgrading the FSD. you could do this same trip in an stripped down anaconda in 10 jumps, upgrade the FSD then swap it back to the corvette. you herculean adventure of moving the corvette here an there is you own choice, thus you don't need to do the trip in 4 jumps with the corvette, not that you the game forces you to do it anyway.

irrelevant. I have an FSD size 5. I can chose to go with an Asp or with a FAS. I'd never complain about the FAS jump range, but I'm the troll.

range means range, long time is long time.

Long range directly suggesting good jump range. This description should just be removed. Both vette and FDL are a ships of one system.. and FDL is called a bounty hunter ship....
Also, in the description, the fdl is stated to come standard with "high quality components". E class is NOT high quality components, it's the worst !!

Se we rename the Corvette to: Anaconda MK2 ?

Or maybe just sell the Corvette and buy the Anaconda instead.

With a pretty mediocre roll for rank 4 I am at 15.83 with full kit.(pretty much in the middle of the roll range) A max rolled rank 5 could be around 19 LYs.

Class 4 is pretty to gather mats for and can get up to pretty high so it isn't like getting your Vette to a reasonable jump range is going to be difficult if you want to do it.

This is great news (and your later post about 17.x ly from level 5 mod).

Sadly, I'm having a hell of a time getting Yttrium, let alone Polonium (for level 5). I think all the Yttrium I ever had (3, now down 1) was from barnacles, which no longer spawn. I've gone to the planets where Yttrium has been reported, but no joy.

Correction: 1 of my 3 Yttrium came from a mission reward.
