Getting use out of those X52 extras (pic hvy)

H1ghland3r - will help where I can.

So - to set up the mode switches, in my Pro, you need to delete all the modes other than the main one.
Then - set up a new mode and call it mode 2 (and then mode 3 for the next) - selecting MODE2 and MODE3 as the shift commands
Using my keybindings, I set the following up to add a "shift command":
on press:
# (to deploy hardpoints on mode1)
B (to balance everything)
7 8 (to put a little power to weapons and shields
on release:
# to hide hardpoints

Fire 3 then selects next fire group using ] in the "press" command then fires using TAB in the repeat box then presses [ to go bak to previous fire group. This gives you a tertiary fire button for missiles etc

For Mode 2 (flight mode)
99979 to put power to engines with a little to shields

Primary trigger is put on target
Pinkie is supercruise

For mode 3(landing)
On press
G for gear
777 for max shields

On release
g to stow gear

Main trigger is "all stop" instead of fire
Have a button for lights

Make sure that the modes are all deleted before you start and the clutch mode is disabled and make sure if you're copying me, you use my keybindings or it will all go pear shaped.

For the rotary to work to deploy scoop:
Change the percentages
set 3 bands - 0-10% does "deploy scoop"
10-90% is blank
90-100% does "deploy scoop" again to close it

Same with the slider - if you want the radar as i do either full zoom or not, just map a multiple zoom in or zoom out to the top and bottom 10% and leave a deadzone. There are more elegant methods.

I will try and take pictures - I really need to pinch one of those diagrams that people have created and attach screenshots to it, but will wait until gamma lands. Drop me a message offline if you want more help - happy to skype call my way through a setup if you're really stuck.

That's exactly what I needed to know.. Will work my way through your info and see if I can get it working, it makes sense on reading, I didn't realise you could set bands for the slider and rotary controls so that make way more sense now.
I very much appreciate the help, I'll let you know if I have anymore questions once I've had a chance to play with it but I think that will be enough to get me where I want to be..

Thanks again. :D

Vingtetun - Thanks for sending the profiles you did a few days back. I am completely screwed and nothing is working. Seem to have a bunch or randomly assigned controls. Need to start from the beginning. Not sure if it was the new patch or what. Can you send me the files again or link where they are? Thanks man. cclose1411@gmail.com

So let me get this right if someone gets the stick set up perfect you can get a profile off them to save you time doing it. That sounds fantastic!

Could ED and Frontier not ship a few of these regarded by the community as the best few. I’d happily use someone’s profile even as a starting point.

Vingtetun, thank you so much. Had a day off from work and I´ve been fooling around all day with profile editing. I used your ideas to make a profile to suit my playstyle and with a litlle bit tweaking it should render the keyboard useless (exept for chat ofc). Love what you did with the "safe" button in combat mode. Also landing override deadzones made landing much faster and easier, didn´t even cross my mind before. Setting up the profile was kinda painful at the beginning ´cos I got a BSOD allmost everytime I created a macro. I had a missing update in Windows for a .NET framework thingy that caused the blue screen. After I updated that everything´s been working fine. Saying this if someone is having the same problem :).

Nice one. I've been too-ing and fro-ing about getting an X52 and am going to save this for future reference. They do look good!

Thanks for posting this. I've got an x52 pro on the way.

Nice! I was playing E: D /w keyboard and mouse. Made a "risk" investment and bought x52 and turns out it was the best 150€ I´ve spent this year :D

There´s propably far more better choises out there but this was the one for my wallet.

I would appreciate any profiles for my x52 non pro stick to test out and check I am doing it correctly.

I have tried the OP and it seems to work fine but I have suddenly encounter an issue where the axis goes off center. (for example the center suddenly moves up and to the right) I have read this is common issue with saitek hardware and looks to be to do with the profiler. There are suggestions about removing possible corrupted data in the registry and removing them has removed the problem, but most just pull the usb cable and reconnect. Whilst this isn't a problem in general flight, during a firefight it will be problematic.
If I remove all profiles but leave the control panel for the stick up it works fine and the pinkie button works. I would be interested in hearing if others have had a similar issue when using the profiler and if so how they got around the problem.

Has anyone else had their configs messed up since the last update? Did they add additional commands for hyperdrive or something? everything is a little wonky for me now...

OK - been ploughing my way through profile requests - i sometimes miss ones just posted in threads so if you want a a starter profile, drop me a pm and I'll bung you on the list.

There are about 4 days worth of requests and queries still to respond to - I'm away with work at the moment and not had a chance to test my profiles against Gamma. there are some changes I need to make with respect to the notes and the keybindings for supercruise etc and I have had some feedback that means that I can improve the button allocation in supercruise to make scanning easier with a DS. (I have chucked myself out of supercruise many times by being a muppet with my own button setup).

So - home tonight, will test and update then upload and message people/comment on here.

I'm trying to get a diagram done that explains the keybinds and controller config, with screenshots of how the various functions are used in my particular version of this setup..... As soon as I have time, I'll add them too.

finally - in the dropbox that I'm pointing people at I have also put the TrackIR profile that I'm using. Thanks to Maxim for the original - I've made some tweaks to it to suit updates to the game and my own personal preferences.

that's it for now. itching to get home and test Gamma.

Grimbil - they've changed the controls subtly, so you can now have separate keys for hyperspace and super cruise. There is still an option to have a single key for both, but I think it isn't set as a default, so that's probably what's messed up your profile.

Finally I started playing the beta and this guide helped setting up my trusty X-52 Pro which I have been using for almost three years. Thank you very much for the help!

Another few batches of x52 profiles sent out to people. let me know if you have questions.

In the dropbox there is now:
Gamma.binds: the keybindings I use for my setup
Flight1: X52Pro (pre gamma) with fire 1 boosting power to the weapons when held and lowering again when released (good for lasers)
Flight2: X52Pro (post gamma) without the above fire modification, I prefer to do mine manually.

Having sent out so many of these, I'll be keeping them updated from the link in my Commander's Log at the site below. Will keep posting up modifications and updates here on the forums, but if you want to subscribe to the relevant post on my blog, it will hopefully keep you informed about updates.

I'm after a little help - I've had 6 or 7 commanders ask me for a normal X52 version of my setup, not the Pro version and I don't have the means to create one to the same layout. Can anyone help (if we swap notes).

I also desperately need to put it together as a diagram to help explain how I've done things for the beginners and need a hand with that a little, too - I've got screenshots of the various configurations, just need to glue it all together nicely.

Other than that, hope you guys and girls are finding it a useful start point for your own setups.

(p.s. there is now a TrackIR5 config in there as well from my own setup)

Thank you for this information. I have an X52 that was delivered yesterday sitting on my desk in front of me glowing a very impassive blue and daring me to do anything with it. With your information and walk through it is a lot less intimidating!
