According to some, there was that one time with the NPCs after the Engineers came out, but no, unfortunately there hasn't been a time.

Kind of makes me think the game isn't meant for me, happening to care to play as a survivalist as I do. Guess I should have figured it out from the inconsequential respawn rebuys.

If I'd made the effort to schlep all the way out to it in, say, an FGS, I'd be gutted to think I might have to fly an extra 1,000Ly to get back home again.
