Speaking of ambitious, wouldn't this be the very first AAA voxel-based terrain system? Unless you can list another non-indie studio I believe it is. [happy]
The shots in bright sunshine do show well defined shadows... (Take a look at Dev diary #2 and see very detailed shadows cast by coasters). I also believe the supports look a little out of place because of the extreme height of the coaster track. These pics show great potential, they show what can be done.
A talented member of Frontier created the Golem, probably thought "why not wrap a coaster around it" - Simple as that, it probably was not their intention to create the best looking real world coaster ever produced.
Personally, I haven't been this excited about a game release in years
Wow nice spotted. The backgroudn of Planet coaster looks pretty bad but they are gonna fix it. HopefullyWell i know what you want to say, but im still skeptical. Even if PC looks promising i wont hype just based on some screenshots or videos...
Talking about the background, i hope there will be different Maps we can choose of.
This Game needs something like this:

Well the devs decided to share those things and i dont see the reason why someone would post a picture of the coaster editor when it doesnt look promising? i want to see a solid coaster editor in a game which is called Planet COASTER. 3 months are pretty short when they still have to develop the coaster system.
Dont get me wrong but after Rc** i am verrrrryyyyy skeptical.
People saying RCTW backgrounds are better undestand that what we saw are NOT real backgrounds, but just some simple elevations done by them in the dev videos and shots to not show the infinity blue sky at the end, and that they still need to work on those no?
The difference being you will be able to create fantastical landscapes within PC, even create similar landscapes to the pics posted above. This can then be incorporated into your park with rides and guests throughout.
I would much prefer to do that than just have a pretty (static) background to look at... The very same background image that everyone else has.
... I'm not concerned.
Rct* all over again?![shocked]
Yes it is. This thread is riddled with people that think beta/in development means final version.
Just like RCTW this game will only improve. Just look at how much RCTW improved their system in under a month. Piece by piece construction with an adjustable length slider. 'Specialty elements' still need some work- but it's only really noticeable in "ride" mode- which I never use anyways.
Both games could be great. RCTW allows for user generated scenery, while PC allows you sculpt scenery out of 'land.'
Just ... take it easy.
Of course the game still in developing and we can be sure that the same image and scenary sorrounding on 3 months until ALFA will change so much, and of course until Launchment at Q4 2016. (November - Dicember i remember they said, when it's ready).
Ohhh, and that was (i believe) the first pics showed on night mode.... Of course they can improve that and i wish they're going to improve that Supports a little bit to look more stilishI have to say, i've never imagined to she that horizontal supports between the vertical supports!! I like it but maybe i prefere them without. Are a tipical element on the highest and maybe old coasters we know... ¿i'm right? Retro-look ? hahahah
i still expectant.... [big grin]
PLEASE tell me you're joking. [mouth shut]And no game is perfect (apart from Goat Simulator, of course).
