Good home station in Colonia?

I'm going to be shipping out to Colonia soon on my 2nd account. Leaving the carrier in the Bubble on my main account so will need a home station out there.

Any suggestions for a good station to call home? I seem to remember Jacques being a bit further out from the sun than I would like for a station I'll be returning to on a regular basis.

I'd like to know that, too. My current haunt is Whirling Station in Ogmar, and as I was about to summon my T10 from Tir, I noticed that it doesn't have a shipyard. Possibly, not even a UC office?

I used to be based in Centralis at Phoenix Harbor but when I switched to Oddy it put the base into eternal darkness which it used to be the opposite. I finally found a new home in the Aurora Astrum system.
My new base is on the tidally locked AA3 at the planetary base Prisma Renata. It's real close to the main star, has res sites for bounty hunting and mining and the base is just on the edge of the day/night but is always light. Plus the straight on natural approach always drops me right in front of the landing pads so no circling around. Has everything I need as far as supplies and is close to centrally located in the nebula as well. The view from the bar is quite nice with the planetary rings in full view to..
Bonus that there is usually only 1 or 2 carriers present too, sometimes none. I don't keep mine there because I anchor it out at my secret mining spots when not peddling mined goods at Tir.

We could use some more locals that respect independence and freedom to help our cooperative and to try and push out a certain dictatorship pg faction that is present. Same group that took over my old home at Robardin Rock. ;)

I chose a station with a green-parkland Tourist interior (as we can't land on ELW's yet...). Bisley Landing in Benzaiten is the only one in the Colonia region AFAIK. Not central, but as the region is so small, any ship with a decent jumprange can get anywhere in about 2 jumps.

Still looks good in Horizons, rather less so in Odyssey.

Mine used to be Carcosa, asteroid station a few Ls from the main star. It used to be the only source of Fed, Alliance and the T-10 in Colonia. Then SECD decided to push out The Nameless from control (now, like so many Anarchy factions at 1% in their home system) and that was the end of choice in Colonia, as far as those ships went. A tiny group can't beat a squadron with over 1,000 active players, so it remains just another plume in the "Rulers of Colonia"'s feathery hat.

Personally, I'm willing to support The Nameless to get their system back. maybe we could all make a push at once to do so.

I spent the last few months based out of Tir, Bolden's Enterprise. It has good facilities and its a 3-letter system name, which makes it awesome for galactic map and EDDB.

I spent lots of time travelling between
Tir, Bolden's Enterprise
Luchtaine, Neugbaure Mines
Ratraii, Bonestall Point
Centralis, Phoenix Harbor
Chrysus, Rock

And I got lots of big missions from Colonia, Holloway, even though its 3,000 away from star.

TolaGarf's Junkyard an asteroid station in Kojeara is only 225 Ls from the entry star. It's where I base myself when I am out there.

No-one's recommended Foster Terminal in Coeus yet - it's out on the fringes and only has okay services (plus a material trader), but it's in a really nice location.
That is a good place. It is the only Manufactured Material Trader in Colonia. Minor drawback is 1,500Ls from star and its located in the ring of a planet that you gotta navigate around. And I always have a tough time spelling Coeus in the galactic map or EDDB. (copy and paste it instead)

Tir
It has an engineer
the station distance is not too big - 150ls for the outpost, 300 ls for the starport
and most importantly - it seems to be a permanent source of restore missions

We made ourselves a nusiance there for a while, but most of the time when we were feeding SECD a never-ending stream of wars, all that happened would be that 30 or more of their FCs would appear in the system (mostly CIDE, naturally, brought from the bubble) and weight of numbers made it impossible for us to win. It was great fun though!

Thanks for all the suggestions folks - looking forward to getting out there and exploring. I've been before but it was only for a short visit, this time I'm sticking around (well, on second account at least).
It's worth it. Personally I prefer it because the scale is much more manageable than the bubble. After a while you don't need Inara or EDDB for trade as you just remember which station does what. Exploring is great as there's still undiscovered systems 1 jump away. Everything is on hand in Colonia so my ships are much more purpose built since it's 3 jumps to most places and you're unlikely to run out of fuel. Having just 4 engineers who can do everything makes ship building much easier too.
