Got any Suggestion for a Gift for an Elite dangerous Fan?

Hello,
A friend of Mine is a big ED Fan (like me). His Birthday is coming up and I want to buy a Gift that has something to do with playing ED.

My Budget is about 20 bucks

Ive looked at the merchandise Store from frontier, but i dont think he would wear ED Shirts or Pins haha. Do you know any Gadgets that make ED more fun, or something else that he could enjoy?
He already has a head-tracker.

Thanks for any Suggestions!

If they own a joystick and throttle setup you could get them a "remove before flight" key ring or label the idea is to cover the joystick etc to keep it dust free but like a fighter jet have systems to check before flight i.e. removal of the cover.

If he reads books, then get him one of the elite novels. Drew Wagar's Elite: Reclamation is good. If he's more into gadgets, owns an android smartphone, and doesn't already own a headset, then Google Cardboard is fun to try out in Elite.

Second the voice pack.

If your friend is a Trekkie, then the William Shatner or Brent Spinner HCS pack.
Even without the voice commands, the status reports are significantly different to give a different feel...
Using it in combat gives you an edge.

The Completionist - Digital: $18,000.00 USD
Need to have it all? The Completionist package lets you have all ships announced up to 2014, plus a couple 2015 Concepts (See package contents). All limited ships and limited flair come with an extra copy of themselves (certain exceptions). The package also comes loaded with Hangar decorations and 20,000 UEC Starting Money for game launch.

does he have a hotas?

its a bit more than your budget, but i have seen the thrustmaster hotasx for not much more than your budget. (I think i have seen it on sale for £20, which is about $30 in your money (actually £20 is a lot closer to $20 these days but i am going back a few months before the collapse of Sterling).

if your mate does not have a flight stick, a hotas is imo the best gift you could get for improving ED, and for the money that is a very capable stick.

if not however i can only echo what others have said about voice attack with a voice pack.

some of the elite canon books are also v good too.

Definatly voice attack. £8 bucks last time I looked, makes a massive difference, and really enhances the game. Oh and yeah maybe a voice pack to go with it.

Hello OP, hello commanders,

If your budget is small and if you are at least a little bit skillfull with scissors and glue, I would suggest making a paper models of Sidewinder and Cobra MkIII...

Thats what I did as presents for my colegues at work - both Elite Dangerous commanders...

One Sidey is always watching over my work (sitting on top of a lamp on my work desk) :)

You can find links to the printables in this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=186536&highlight=paper+craft
Or search it online, google returns quite a few sites...

P.S.: my personal advices
* when you print it out, first step is to glue the whole paper to another paper and let it dry UNDER A HEAVY BOOK (otherwise it will twist). The pieces will be much harder and easier to glue them together later...
* when your ship is almost assembled, make small crumpled pieces out of newspaper and fill the model with them before you glue the final "closing" piece... It will be less "squeeze sensitive" and weigh a little more - feels better :) My models have this way survived even some "gaming sessions" of my little boys.

Have fun! And congrats to your friend for having a good friend ;-)
