Got that CV1 finally.

It surely does, but we're still passing through the newest Oculus runtime so that should have been fine.

The IPD adjustment is done physically on the HMD with a small slider.

Does this button pushes the lens foward and backward or left and right?. because in my gear vr i see blurry, but when i push the headset left or right my eyes get clear. i mean the one that is centralizing the lens

If they can find a way to track our hands/fingers (simple reflective/led gloves or something) that would be awesome for a proper 3D cockpit. Able to actually reach and adjust the switches in the virtual pit.

Once they have this working in Elite and DCS, I will be one happy camper...

Add a second rift camera above your pit and track the hands? ;-)

Until then - there is always this :D

Regarding tracking of hands, check out Leap Motion.

Still have a leap motion sat in my drawer. Very impressive tech, terrible for navigating a Windows desktop :D

It translates the lenses laterally, that is, left and right.
You need to first press the slider downwards to unlock it for sliding.

Back from the office and will give it a few more shots today. Perhaps with older drivers ..

Thanks :)

Last thing to say for now - I don't think I can really reveal that many details but I can tell you two important things.

If, like me, you have a bumpier nose in the upper part, in the DK2 the plastic used to rest on it and it was hurting. Glad to report no such problems with the sample I got as plastic that used to cause the problem is now replaced with really soft foam.

If, like me, you have long hair and tie it pony-tail style, expect your hair to get caught up in the headphones when you take the HMD off. Very annoying :(

I agree FOV/peripheral vision improvement is my biggest gripe with the DK2 to be honest!

You could say goodbye to the 80s and have a haircut - problem solved! ;)

You get a CV1 present from me if you convince my GF of that.

P.S Imho the rift will win the 'best casing' award. It's just so simple and elegant.

not yet. intent is to spend first half of evening hacking at 0.8 and then second half with 0.6.

Almost done with first half and no juice :/ If anything I made it worse :D

gonna watch movie now and then get to second half.

Some of us are counting on you to make or break our purchase in 21 hours, lol. Thanks for this!

well guys I can confirm that CV1 runs ED as it should with runtime 0.8, using SteamVR. Almost.

After almost giving up trying with the new SDK I thought just for the heck of it try enabling xfire. And that's where it all worked. Basically everything worked, except for the fact that my second card was still idling, so the performance was like last time.

I don't know if I had the 'benefit' of that added frame delay. As xfire obviously isn't working properly, I'd guess LiquidVR is not being used. In any case I was too busy getting dizzy from the low framerate while testing graphics settings to notice an extra frame of delay added from using crossire.

However I think I've now had a look into what it will look like and to be honest - I'm a bit disappointed of the quality. I really expected a bit more. :( It's better than the DK2 - sure, but the smaller font UI controls in the cockpit are still hard to read :( Bleeding can still be seen in some heavy contrast areas. Granted - I was looking for those things, but it was just a bit too easy to find them than I hoped.

The low resolution was always my concern and if I could, I'd say it's one of the major contributor to the better visuals than the DK2. Even with its small increase.
I hate to say that concern has proved valid.

I'll still be buying one and playing it as it'll probably beat all else out there but I definitely could have gone for a mega enthusiast version with a 4K screen...

That's all in land visuals of course. The HMD blasts DK2 in all other areas naturally.
