Griefing

What do players get from camping by a nav beacon and constantly attacking an unarmed ship with no cargo, or no bounty? Is it just the pleasure of ruining the game for someone else, or what?

So many reasons, feel free to read through the thousands of topics regarding that. There are human right activists, lawyers and even poems out there to be discovered, all covering the topic of griefing in games and Elite Dangerous.

"Some want to test the response of the victim."

An unarmed Asp.. clearly an explorer trying to get to Deciat to engineer his ship, so yeah, probably just doing it to be a . Rebooted into solo play... not time for this childish crap. Oh well, schools are back next week.

Why not go to Elvira Martuuk instead? Did you know she provides G5 FSD upgrades?

Heck, if you plan on going to Colonia you can get a pretty sweet ship without ever visiting Farseer.

elvira is even less of a pain than farseer to unlock 'cause grabbing a few soontill relics and hopping across the bubble in an early-game ship is way easier than trekking out to the pleiades or witch-head

I imagine they all look like this.

Maybe they are hoping for someone to get frustrated in real life and post about it..

Actually, how can you establish the real world motivations of a player? Are they pursuing some ingame result? Are they just trying to ruin other people’s experience? You can probably extrapolate with in game behaviors tracked over time...like some kind of Kharma system....hmmm .

Considering that my heart has never been beating faster in this game than when I flew my paper dart Courier through Shinrarta Dezhra whilst being chased by players in a Krait mk2 and FAS. Rebuy was insignificant but it was a game if whether I could evade them and get to Jameson. Where would the fun have have been there if not for those gankers? It's not like there's an anarchy system somewhere that would give the same challenge.

This was how I did it. I've never understood why people do Farseer first. Being able to g3 your shields at the same time is no bad thing either.

Most of them are sadly not kids on holiday, this is just how they play the game. The only way to avoid them is to go solo or Mobius, just avoid open in hot spots like engineers.

Killing NPC's is a given. When fighting a player you might get the kill. Due to the absurd way the game is balanced even the weakest ship has a chance to escape, and better outfitted ships can only be killed if they allow a 'gentleman's death'. Killing weak ships' simply is the only way to kill cmdrs 'on your own merit'.

Beyond that: anyone who goes out of his way to remove the weapons of his ship deserves to be killed over and over and over.

Obviously. The OP is asking why people find it fun. I know I wouldn't. I also know other people evidently do. It's not my job to complain, unless they're being massive edgelords about it, like a lot of people on this forum.
Theres really no way to explain it, they just do i guess.
