I have grandchildren who would like to play this game. Is there the possibility of logging on as a guest so that they can try the game on my computer and then, if they like it, they can buy their own!

Not as a guest, but you could show them the training missions on your account?
@OP - also, at the bottom of the launcher game selection (you have to scroll down) there is a sort-of demo called "Single Player Combat Training" - I think it is 32 bit and needs installing if you have not run it before but it has no effect on your Commander - they can use that to their heart's content. You also used to be able to play it without having an account at all (i.e. not logged-in) - I don't know if that it true any more.
