Had my best ever Tritium trading day , 58000 T

Yesterday , had my best ever Tritium trading day on my Fleet Carrier, 58000 tons traded. we loaded and unloaded her 3 x from 9am to past midnight . I logged off around 11pm with 15k still to sell from the final run and it was empty 9am this morning.

Personally, I only did 1-2 shuttle runs each side of the trade, so maybe a dozen trips at most. My small crew, exact numbers unknown, 3-10 CMDRS , did all the rest, and took the profits.

Had some amazing luck, managed to get into the only large pad buying system, VARPET, twice on the bounce, first attempt, and on the station moon I selected, so we only had an under 20Mm trip to fill up the FC.

My personal cut would have been a minimum of 58m credits yesterday from my 1k cut commission. That helps with the 22m FC weekly upkeep. ;) But I did very little of the work, just moving the FC mainly. Anyway thanks to any folks on here who helped, and bunk on my FC for now, while the save form their own.

Keep Hauling

Nice!

I've managed to do two round trips in 24 hours, so only 38000 (ish) but I've managed to get to the closest moons/planets either first go or within 30 minutes. I don't think I have a crew onboard so my loading/unloading was all done by independent pilots at both ends.

You're welcome! I saw my record supercruise time on one of those runs, around 6 seconds at one point. It actually took longer to get in or out of the station than it did to supercruise between it and your FC.

And in return, I'm getting very close to having my own FC now...

I'm not opposed to the crazy credits we can make trading Tritium (it's how I chose to fund my fleet carrier, with some help), but I do wish the markets made a little bit more sense. Each day one random system with a large pad is selling Tritium dirt cheap, while all the other markets are buying it at top-dollar. It doesn't feel immersive at all. I would expect Tritium to be cheap near lucrative mining hotspots and expensive where fleet carriers are purchased and administered at the very least. In a perfect simulation, supply and demand would be tracked, which would flip prices. The system where everyone is buying Tritium would dry up quick and the cost would go up, whereas the systems where everyone is dumping Tritium would be the opposite, with numbers tracking how much Tritium is consumed (I just did multiple runs for the sake of fueling my carrier) and how much Tritium is being put into the market by mining.

I really don't understand why ED's markets are so primitive... And no, I don't think BGS states cut it as market indicators.

IANAME IRL FYI

Close to 5b-6b? Really. Not all through hauling for me though surely? Although it is possible, i have figures and upgrade paths logged out to go from 10t Sidewinder to 756t T9 , then a maximum of 50hrs from the T9 to 5B for a FC. In theory working for me the maximum time from 10T Cargo Sidewinder to Fleetcarrier and T9 is 60hrs.

I started with 1.7 b after my exploration post-DW2. I use a T9 with 724 t. When you're not jumping but the transfer is complete, I moonlight on other carriers. Mostly you, though. And now I have 4.9 b.

I've been in the situation where almost as soon as you enter super cruise you have to exit again. Made it very easy to overshoot. It was only the once however but I hope it happens again. That time the round trip was 4:59 if I pushed hard, very hard. A more leisurely round trip was 5:25.

Good luck with getting your own carrier.

Yeah, so getting close spots can really make a difference to the credits-per-hour earning rate. I think I've only done two loops of shame, which also helps. Yesterday I just seemed to fly through the work, and today's going well too (actually unloading Austen at the moment, I seem to be the only one so the quick profit's all mine).

Nice work guys !!! :)

Last week I was in a hurry to travel so went to a 4000 /t trit system and advertised 40000 /t for 10000t , came back 30 mins later and I had 10k trit :)
From now on will make time and fill it myself as it wasn't cheap :(

That why I have given up trying to explain in chat to the noobies who cant get what I / we are doing, and their answer is always the same, "but buy is here for 4k and the sell in in XZY system / station for 48k or 52k, it's only 35-50 LY away, only takes 25 mins round trip.

I want to put my arm around them and say, "let me tell you the story of the old bull and the young bull...………….."

And that's you done. Now at 5.04 b. I likely won't be online over the weekend much, so will buy the FC on Monday morning, since I'll want to play with it. No services to start with, so I will be able build a buffer of funds over the rest of today. Then I can use my own carrier to trade to get the services I want, then put aside a year's upkeep, then I'm back out in the black.

But not to hijack the thread, this was made very much easier through the service provided by MarkyH as alluded to by the great trading day he had, as well as Austin's contribution of credits in second place, so thanks to you both.

And to all newbies, go give this a try!

But now, lunch!

Not sure who else I was working with, but sometimes those cargo inventory numbers change fast! Definitely a few times yesterday the carrier was right at the orbital's doorstep and made for extremely fast transfer times.
