For the CG's increase the rewards, the volume required and the time available to do it. The Station repairs for the Thargoid incursion should all be CG's that automatically create. That way you could see easily how close to completion they are.

The complete status is displayed in station news and in the galnet post. Admittedly having so many percentages does make it somewhat complex and an overall percentage might be nice, but I'm not sure what making it a CG would do - as they don't complete after a time - only when you hit the top tier.

They want the community to band together with a goal of delivering those materials. It's the definition of a community goal. The top tier would be enough. However as you reach each tier it could flag some sort of improvement in facilities with some sort of visible effect inside the station.

never used it. still don't know what it's even used for or why i should even use it. what is it supposed to do anyways?

however, i actually find the codex quite useful. have used it to discover various thargoid and guardian stuff.

The intern that was in charge of GalNet content had to go back and resume 6th Form classes.

No word on replacement.

TBH, I'd rather Frontier stop their one hour Monday live stream and put all those people into writing GalNet articles. Heck, I'll even read about the Princess changing her hair color, anything to add life to this dead feature of the game!

Galnet has devolved into reporting on CGs because that is the only content FD seem to be able to do. And of course because certain people... get all confused when Lore is added and they cant see it in game ... so they call it "fluff" and get all bent about it. So FD in their wisdom of listening to a few misguided whiners ruined Galnet. Salty? Yup

So here we are... they have ruined Galnet and how many of us played the game.. based on those stories (real or no) and enjoyed the Lore ( yes of course we would have liked more real tie-ins).... we didnt want it to go away.

Im guessing they put the extra writers they hired to work writing the patch notes?

They could use Galnet as a channel for the local news you find on the station menu screen.

"News Alert - CMDR Obi Wan Shinobi, who has left a trail of destruction in the local system racking up bounties of over 1,000 credits by attacking power aligned ships, is wanted by the authorities. He was last seen in Sol."

All this information is already in the game. Likewise for minor faction stuff.

It might not be the most exciting reading but it's still better than literally nothing, and adding "proper" stories such as CG or II related ones would further enrich the experience.

Plus you could check on local news without having to dock.
