Has Odyssey turned everyone into thieving murdering scallywags

Be honest commanders how many of you have turned to murdering innocents and plundering Anarchy Settlements in Odyssey to earn ground material rewards? I don't think many of us fall under the law abiding category anymore. Begs the question does the crime & punishment system really work now? I mean would the major powers of the Empire, Alliance and Federation really turn a blind eye to this even outside of their own jurisdictions? From a lore and game play point of view I don't think its great.

I know that many Odyssey missions lawful ones do grant material rewards too but raiding settlements is still the best way to get these quickily. Whilst I'm analysing game play and having a small moan isn't it about time we got prison ships in every system? Having to get an Apex shuttle 3-4 jumps back to a home system is tiring and dull.

Could we as players choose a spawn location but pay adjusted fines for re-spawning closer to our ships? If you want to go to prison in the system you were caught red handed in, why not punish the player more in terms of finance or reputation drops? I'd happy take 100-200% the fine amount to spawn nearby my home station instead of having to repeat the return to game cycle that comes with being WANTED in Odyssey.

I do however agree on the prison ships. In my area, I actually have to do a pitstop with the APEX, and thats annoying. So I'd say triple/quadruple the amount of prison ships. I mean why not, there are trillions of people in the bubble. It should be 1000s of prison ships

I actually find it more fun to try and do as many missions as possible without hurting anyone. The confused look on the NPCs faces as you run past them in the SEC rooms and switch off the alarms and run out before they realise what is happening is priceless :)
Have done that quite a few times myself. I get surprised, probably as much as the officer, that I get away with it every time :D

So I'm not gonna do an "everyone", wich is a popular term on these here forums. But many/quite a few, and not adressing OP here, don't get me wrong, but seems to get locked in one way of doing/completing a mission. That being an actual mission or just faffing about collecting hard earned stuffz (tm, see post #8)
Not gonna say everything in the game can be done without getting wanted, but it's not that far off.

I still remain a peaceful cartographer, isn't it? =)

Well, those unlucky six are a real mystery for me - I honestly don't remember when (and how) I have been involved in their extermination. In settlements my commander is unarmed (except taser, but I've used it only in alpha for the last time). Hmmm, are dealing with opponents in "settlement defense mission" scenario counts as murdering?
On the other hand I've opened most of Odyssey Engineers, have enough mats for the rest of them, and I've got a few useful QoL upgrades for my gear.

I REALLY don't like this 'criminal only/mostly' tone about odyssey (legs). In Horizons there were many legal career paths to get everything done, people even came up with charts of how many legit career choices you have. I'm new to odyssey and so far have not encountered any legal offers. it's all been a very negative experience so far...
Haven't seen the restore/repair missions, I am new so maybe I'm looking in the wrong places... are there more legal mission types and ways to have a legal career AND gather engineering materials? Horizons was always balanced in their missions, you choose who you are.
