Has this game been hacked already?

Posts like these do more harm than good. Now when someone googles the H word there will be a hit for E: D.....good work!

First of all I have to say that people that base their conclusions on thread names and newspapers headlines are not worthy of this game. ;)

And regarding the problem, dale1965, I don't think that's the problem. There are plenty skilled, dangerous and crazy commanders out there. If you played in Open mode, you don't have any right to complain. Universe is harsh. If you were playing in Solo mode, I don't have any clue what could kill you that fast.

I would bet the OP got blapped by an NPC, he upgraded everything but the powerplant and then lost power when he deployed hardpoints, made somewhat worse by the fact that ED's default priority settings tend to "divert all available power to the cargo scoop".

If a much larger ship (like a Python) nailed you with a well-aimed shot with multiple railguns of large size
There are no large railguns in the game. And if at some point there is, no one would put them on the Python's large hardpoints because the spread is too big.

And like all great mysteries, OP was never heard from again. We will never know what he was in or what hit him. I'm losing sleep here!

The jokes were funny and all until I load the 4th page and not one shred of information is told beyond "not a sidewinder"...

For all we know he rammed into an asteroid, perhaps even IRL since he's not responding..

A full cannon / railgun broadside from something with 3 or more hardpoints (if the target is small enough), a bunch of missile spam, or 4 pips to shields and ramming can usually manage the same thing. Since the OP says they spent 20m on upgrades then the target is potentially a Cobra or larger, so I'd suggest a lucky plasma / railgun alpha strike or maybe a missile barrage.

With 20 millions it should be either an asp or an extremely overpriced type-6 or extremely bad type-7.

Why is everyone posting on this thread still?

This is a classic, I never read the instructions, deployed too much kit and my ship shutdown thread.

The OP has left with a red face, probably wont come back for a few light Years now lol

game is of course already hacked, those hacks can give you unlimited ammo, energy, allows you to get 0cr fines on your head. only problem is that you have to hack your client by yourself in debugger.

there is also a page claiming that they have undetectable multihack tool to "improve" much more in the game. UTFG :)

I think the only hacking so far is when CMDRS fly and die without insurance and come to the forums to lament.
They certainly sound/read hacked off.

Is it possible to hack ED. Not been done yet to any ones knowledge, but I doubt impossible given enough time as with any computer code.

Is it possible to die with one shot in ED : Yes

So now you have your answer I suggest you tweet it all over the world as that is what you want or do you want to have a serious conversation or continue to act like a child / troll ?
It is actually very easy to hack ED as it uses p2p networking, one of the players in the instance is hosting the instance, it is not hosted on game servers. The games servers are in effect nothing more than a database that store all the information relating to player property, passing it back and forth between clients.

Hacks like aimbots, speed hacks, ammo hacks, even hacks to give extra damage are all possible; hacking your available credits, cargo, extra ships etc would not be possible. Folks were actually messing about with a readily available cheat engine back in beta to test what was possible, but of course, you are not going to find any threads about it as they were all deleted. A post from one of the devs appeared in a thread that was later deleted suggesting they have hack detection in place, but as to how extensive it is, if it even exists is anyone's guess.

However, now that is out of the way, in this case it is far more likely that something else is the source of the ops woes, as frankly there are any number of weapons in the game than can produce the effects he was complaining about without resorting to cheating.
